Who We Are:

At Synapse Health, we're streamlining the durable medical equipment (DME) process.  We manage intake, documentation, routing, claims, billing, and patient support. Our model reshapes how DME is delivered and experienced.

Since 2016, with decades of industry and leadership experience, we've delivered tech-based solutions that help our partners to modernize operations, improve coordination, and reduce administrative burdens. What We Need:

We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer who wants to own meaningful systems in a fast-moving, high-impact environment. This role goes beyond writing code. You’ll drive solutions from ambiguity to production, build reliable and secure systems in a regulated healthcare environment, and make thoughtful tradeoffs that balance speed, simplicity, and long-term maintainability. If you’re energized by autonomy and building software that directly impacts patients and partners, we’d love to talk.

What You Will Do:

  • Apply a product-focused mindset to drive meaningful impact.
  • Tackle ambiguous challenges, devise effective solutions, and break down work for yourself and others to ensure high-quality delivery.
  • Champion and practice AI-assisted coding techniques to enhance development efficiency.
  • Build automation tools to reduce developer toil, boost velocity, and maintain software quality.
  • Mentor fellow engineers, share knowledge, and advocate for new technologies and best practices.

What You Have:

At Synapse Health we’ve intentionally built a culture of kindness, collaboration, and creativity, and we consider those qualities to be table stakes for any new team member. In addition, this role requires:

  • Bachelor’s degree with a major in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or other related majors, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience with an object-oriented programming framework (e.g., .NET, Java, Python, or similar)
  • Understanding of ORM frameworks (e.g., Entity Framework, ADO.NET, Hibernate, SQLAlchemy)
  • Hands-on experience writing and optimizing SQL queries
  • Familiarity with unit testing frameworks such as NUnit, JUnit, xUnit, or PyTest
  • Solid experience with relational database schema design, data modeling, and query performance tuning

What Sets You Apart:

  • Diligent Execution: You think through consequences before shipping code. You prioritize correctness, security, and precision, and you take responsibility for outcomes without deflection.
  • Pragmatic Judgment: You build the right solution for the real problem. You avoid over-engineering, favor incremental delivery, and make sound tradeoffs that balance speed, simplicity, and long-term maintainability.
  • Proactive Ownership: You act early instead of reacting late. You take initiative in ambiguous situations, escalate risks appropriately, and drive problems to resolution without waiting for direction.
  • Collaborative Impact: You engage stakeholders to align on solutions, contribute meaningfully in design and code reviews, and elevate the engineers around you through thoughtful feedback and shared accountability.

Compensation:

The base salary range for this position is $121,600 – $182,400 annually. This range reflects the anticipated compensation at the time of posting. Final compensation will be based on factors such as relevant experience, demonstrated skills, internal equity, and prevailing market conditions. Compensation discussions are encouraged throughout the hiring process.

What Sets Us Apart:

  • Comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, STD & LTD insurance for full-time team members
