About Highrise AI

Highrise AI is a GPU-native infrastructure platform built for modern AI workloads. Designed for developers and enterprises operating in performance-critical and security-sensitive environments, Highrise delivers scalable GPU compute across dedicated clusters, managed cloud, and confidential environments.

Highrise combines bare-metal performance with full-stack orchestration, API-driven access, and hardware-enforced isolation to support training, fine-tuning, and production-scale deployment of AI models. From reserved GPU capacity to enterprise-grade confidential compute, Highrise provides flexible infrastructure models tailored to the needs of builders operating at scale.

Beyond infrastructure, Highrise integrates disciplined operations, advanced automation, and on-site engineering expertise to sustain high uptime and predictable performance across deployments. These capabilities extend beyond Highrise-owned fleets: through managed services, Highrise also operates third-party GPU hardware on behalf of customers and partners, applying the same operational standards to infrastructure it does not own.

Highrise is a subsidiary of Hut 8 Corp., an energy infrastructure platform. Hut 8 integrates power, digital infrastructure, and compute at scale. Highrise serves as the compute and operations layer—designing, deploying, and operating next-generation GPU clusters from commissioning through production.

ROLE OVERVIEW

We are looking for Senior Site Reliability Engineers to expand and evolve our AI Infrastructure Service Operations team in each of three focus areas: Networking, Compute, and Storage.  The successful candidate combines deep multi-platform expertise with strong operational discipline, proven automation capability, and a customer-focused mindset.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Service Reliability and Performance

  • Manage compute, storage, and network resource pools to meet SLA commitments for multi-tenant workloads.
  • Perform capacity planning, performance analysis, and lifecycle management including patching, upgrades, and firmware management.
  • Automate provisioning, configuration, and impact mitigation using myriad of industry standard tools.
  • Respond to service impacts during business hours and as part of a shared on-call rotation.

Lead incident management and drive impact prevention actions.

Documentation, Enablement, and Collaboration

  • Create and maintain clear documentation, standards, and runbooks for your focus area
  • Provide training and ongoing support to operations teams, acting as an expert escalation resource.
  • Serve as the senior escalation point (L3) for incidents in your focus area and as incident manager across domains as appropriate.
  • Build and execute disaster recovery testing scenarios.
  • Work directly with customers to understand how best to support their use cases, driving reliability and performance.

ABOUT YOU

Education and Experience

  • College diploma or university degree in computer science, engineering, or related field, and/or equivalent work experience.
  • 5 years or more experience with operating compute, networking, and storage infrastructure at scale in 24x7 environments.
  • 5 years or more hands-on experience with compute technologies in production.
  • Experience supporting OpenStack or similar open cloud platforms, or strong adjacent experience with modern private cloud stacks.
  • Solid understanding of network technologies including VLANs, VXLAN, OSPF, BGP, NSX or similar SDN technologies, routing, switching, and load balancing.
  • Hands-on experience with scripting or programming languages for automation, and familiarity with basic database concepts.
  • Experience with automation and infrastructure as code tools is a strong asset

Core Competencies

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with high attention to detail.
  • Effective at prioritizing and executing tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Strong customer service orientation and a demonstrated willingness to help internal and external stakeholders.
  • Highly self-motivated and directed, with a bias toward ownership and outcomes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Collaborative team player who operates effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Continuous improvement mindset; proactively automates and eliminates operational toil.

ABOUT THE WORK ENVIRONMENT

This is a full-time role supporting large-scale AI compute infrastructure across multiple sites. Travel to data centers for cluster commissioning, acceptance, and complex troubleshooting may be required from time to time. Flexibility to assist with critical incidents outside regular business hours is expected. This role is hybrid or remote depending on location. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
