Senior Site Reliability Engineer – Azure Cloud

Concord Technologies is growing! Currently seeking a full-time Senior Site Reliability Engineer (Sr. SRE), with experience engineering solutions in Azure Cloud, as part of a remote role, with occasional travel to headquarters in Seattle, Washington required.

Role Summary:

As a Sr. Site Reliability Engineer (SRE), you are responsible for Azure Resource Manager (ARM) based deployments, to both Azure Local and Azure Cloud. As an SRE, you are responsible for maximizing the reliability of production platforms and applications assigned to you, maintaining an infrastructure designed for high-availability and serviceability, with security and compliance standards also taken into consideration. You will contribute by providing your valued input regarding technical dependencies and help set standards for the consumption of cloud services by Development teams, in an overall effort to quickly respond to customer’s needs, provide a confidence in the reliability of the products we host, and achieve Concord’s business goals as part of day-to-day operations.

Essential Functions:

Successful candidates will not only demonstrate a passion for Cloud Infrastructure but will also have an even stronger understanding of business impact and urgency, as a method of prioritizing a team’s efforts, in an enterprise environment.

Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Ability to lead conversations on improving existing processes or products, to proactively reduce risk of downtime and increase system stability.
  • Promote and maintain an “automation first” (‘everything-as-code’) mindset while building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
  • Work from a pre-prioritize work-item backlog, executing assigned work-items in an organized, efficient, and expedited fashion, without determent.
  • Create and maintain knowledgebase documentation, including operational runbooks, disaster recovery plans, and regulatory audit compliance evidencing.
  • Provide hands-on break/fix support and diagnostics, as part of a Cloud Infrastructure Reliability Engineering team, including the provisioning of new resources, managing after-hours releases to production, writing automation scripts and telemetry queries, as well as identify ways to maintain and improve cloud costs.
  • Provide technical review of all release documentation to ensure an uninterrupted customer experience and valid rollback strategy.
  • Participate in regulatory compliance (HITRUST/SOC2) evidencing for audits.
  • Interact with Research & Development, Product Management and Premium Support regarding all code defects, needed enhancements, and other potential cross-team initiatives.
  • Act as a resource to the development teams to aid with build and deployment activities.

 

Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills:

  • 7+ years of DevOps Engineering experience, at least 3 years of with Azure Cloud.
    • Expertise with Azure Monitor and KQL, required.
    • Expertise using Azure DevOps Pipelines to create Configuration-as-Code, required.
    • Expertise using Azure DevOps Boards with Agile Work-Item Process, preferred.
  • Hands-on experience managing PaaS and IaaS in Azure Cloud, required.
  • 2+ Experience with Kubernetes (K8s) required, preferably with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
  • 2+ Experience debugging coding languages required (JavaScript, Python, C#, PHP)
  • Strong scripting skills required (PowerShell; BASH; YAML)
  • Implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of complex environments.


Compensation Range: $150,000 - $170,000. Range can flux dependent on experience, education/training, etc.
