About Incline P&C Group

Incline P&C Group is a privately owned company, backed by private equity and its original founders, with an exclusive focus on the property and casualty program insurance market. The company writes approximately $2+ billion in premiums through its A-rated and managed carriers. Incline has a team of over 100 employees headquartered in Austin, Texas.

Senior Settlements & Reinsurance Analyst

We are hiring a Senior Settlements & Reinsurance Analyst who can think, not just process. This role will grow with the company: in the near term, it anchors the settlements function alongside a Financial Settlements Manager; over time, it will sit within the Insurance Operations team and evolve into an expanded design and ownership role as the department scales.

What This Role Owns

You will own the flow of funds between Incline’s program partners, reinsurers, and legal entities, end to end. That means understanding the mechanics behind each settlement, not just executing the transaction, and driving your work to completion without waiting for direction on the routine or the ambiguous.

Settlement execution and ownership: Prepare and process reinsurance and program partner settlements in line with contractual terms and close deadlines. You are the person who knows why each cash movement exists and where it lands.

Root-cause diagnosis: When a reconciliation breaks, an entity looks wrong, or a transaction does not tie, you investigate before you act and understand what caused the original issue.

Reinsurance and fronting-carrier fluency: Apply working knowledge of program insurance economics, quota share, ceded and assumed positions, general agent disbursements and receipts, trust accounts, and the flow of funds among the fronting carrier, cedents, and reinsurers, to the day-to-day work.

Reconciliation and GL integrity: Own monthly settlement-account reconciliations across multiple entities. Identify open items, resolve them, and escalate only what genuinely needs escalation.

External-partner communication: Serve as a day-to-day point of contact for general agents, brokers reinsurers, and banking partners on settlement matters. Represent Incline professionally on calls and in email, clear, prepared, and take ownership to answer questions .

Systems and process improvement: Use Duck Creek, Workday, and our reporting tools well enough to spot when a manual step should be a system step. Propose and help implement improvements to templates, controls, reporting and documentation.

Reporting: Prepare monthly and quarterly settlement reporting for internal stakeholders and external partners. Assist with internal cashflow forecasting activities.

What Growth Looks Like

This role has meaningful room to expand. As the settlements function grows, the right person will have the opportunity to take on broader design and ownership work, process architecture, systems, reporting standards, and cross-functional partnership with reinsurance accounting and program management. We are hiring for capacity, not just the current job.

What We’re Looking For

We are not looking for someone to run a playbook. We are looking for someone who can figure out what the playbook should be and then follow it, the kind of analyst who reads a new reinsurance arrangement, opens the system, works out how it should settle, and comes to their manager with a proposal rather than a question.

Independent problem-solving: You diagnose before you act. When something does not tie or an instruction is ambiguous, your first move is to investigate context, the transaction, the counterparty, the contract, the prior period, not to escalate.

Analytical thinking and contextual judgment: You can hold and apply context across entities, adjacent programs, and moving parts. You interpret complex data and apply accounting principles to real-world facts, not textbook cases.

Systems aptitude: You learn new systems by using them. You are comfortable in ERP and insurance platforms (Workday, Duck Creek, or comparable), you know your way around Excel at a real working level, and you can figure out what a tool can do without waiting for a walkthrough.

Reinsurance and P&C program knowledge: Familiarity with fronting-carrier economics, quota share arrangements, ceded/assumed reinsurance mechanics, and general agent fund flows. Previous experience in an insurance or reinsurance accounting or similar role is preferred.

Customer-facing communication: You represent the company well to external partners. You are clear, professional, prepared for the call, and able to provide solutions and resolve questions independently.

Continuous improvement and ownership: You notice when a process is fragile, and you fix it or flag it, you do not work around it in silence. You take responsibility for outcomes, not just tasks.

Resourceful and comfortable with ambiguity: In a scaling, private-equity-backed business, the answer is not always documented. You move work forward with incomplete information and ask sharp questions along the way.

Experience & Education: 5+ years in accounting, financial operations, or insurance/reinsurance settlements. P&C program or fronting-carrier experience strongly preferred. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA, CPA candidate, or advanced degree a plus.

Technical Expertise: Working experience with an ERP (Workday preferred) and an insurance system (Duck Creek preferred). Strong Excel skills required.

Location

Our preference is for this role to be based in Austin, TX and operate within a hybrid work model. However, we're open to considering highly qualified remote candidates who can effectively collaborate across teams and support the needs of the business.

Why Incline

Incline is a growing, privately held company and this role will grow with the company. The settlements function sits at the intersection of treasury, reinsurance, and program operations, a rare vantage point in the P&C world, and reports into a leadership team that is actively building the next generation of the finance function. The scope is real, the exposure is direct, and the growth path is genuine.
