About your role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Senior Revenue Accountant to support and operate our revenue accounting function in a fast-paced, growing organization. In this role, you will be hands-on across the full revenue cycle—ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant revenue recognition under ASC 606 while driving the operational rigor that keeps our close, reconciliations, and reporting running smoothly.

You will work cross-functionally with Billing, Deal Desk, Sales, FP&A, GL Accounting, and Systems to support sound revenue treatment, improve order-to-cash processes, and scale revenue operations. This is an individual contributor role suited for someone who blends solid technical accounting knowledge with a strong operational mindset and a bias toward process improvement.

The application deadline for this role is May 18th, 2026.

What you’ll do

ASC 606 technical accounting

  • Perform contract reviews under ASC 606, including identification of performance obligations, standalone selling price (SSP) considerations, and assessment of contract combinations and modifications.

  • Prepare and maintain revenue recognition schedules (including revenue waterfalls), ensuring appropriate treatment of deferred revenue, contract assets, and contract liabilities.

  • Draft and support technical accounting memos related to revenue recognition and non-routine transactions.

  • Research and document the revenue impact of new products, pricing models, and contract terms, and flag items requiring escalation or further review.

Revenue operations & month-end close

  • Own recurring revenue accounting operational activities across the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close, including journal entries, accruals, and cutoff procedures.

  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations for revenue-related accounts (deferred revenue, contract assets, contract liabilities, unbilled receivables, AR-to-revenue tie-outs), and resolve reconciling items on a timely basis.

  • Prepare deferred revenue roll-forwards and analyses, including movement explanations and tie-outs to billings, collections, and recognized revenue.

  • Perform flux analysis on revenue and related balance sheet accounts and provide clear, well-supported commentary for management review.

  • Partner with Billing to investigate and resolve invoicing, collections, and revenue mismatches, and help maintain a clean order-to-cash data flow.

Reporting & analysis

  • Support internal revenue reporting, including recognized revenue, deferred revenue, billings, and backlog metrics, and help produce recurring management reporting packages.

  • Partner with FP&A on revenue forecasting inputs, actual-to-forecast variance analysis, and ad hoc analyses.

  • Respond to ad hoc reporting requests from Billing, FP&A, and leadership with accurate, well-organized data.

Controls, systems & process improvement

  • Execute and help strengthen revenue-related internal controls (SOX where applicable), including documentation, evidence retention, and remediation of exceptions.

  • Support external and internal audit requests, including PBCs, walkthroughs, and sample testing.

  • Support the ongoing maintenance and enhancement of revenue systems and tools, including reviewing revenue arrangements, revenue rules, and SSP configurations, and troubleshooting revenue issues.

  • Identify opportunities to improve and automate revenue processes and partner with systems and accounting teams to implement them.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • 3–4 years of progressive experience in revenue accounting and/or revenue operations, including hands-on application of ASC 606.

  • Demonstrated experience owning balance sheet reconciliations, deferred revenue analyses, and month-end close activities for revenue-related accounts.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and prioritization skills, with the ability to interpret contracts and financial data.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across finance and non-finance functions.

  • Track record of improving or automating accounting processes.

  • Ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred

  • Experience with NetSuite Advanced Revenue Management (ARM) and Zone Billing.

  • SaaS, subscription-based, or tech-enabled services industry experience (fund administration or financial services a plus).

  • SOX compliance experience.

  • Experience supporting external audits.

Nice to have – AI fluency

We are actively integrating AI tools into our finance workflows and value candidates who can accelerate their work responsibly with these tools.

  • Hands-on experience using Claude (Anthropic) as a primary tool to draft and refine technical accounting memos, including ASC 606 position papers, contract review summaries, and revenue treatment conclusions.

  • Comfort using AI assistants to accelerate contract review, summarize long agreements, extract key terms (SSP, performance obligations, modification clauses), and draft first-pass reconciliation commentary and flux explanations.

  • Ability to apply appropriate judgment when using AI—validating outputs against source documents and authoritative guidance, maintaining confidentiality, and understanding the limits of AI-generated accounting conclusions.

  • Interest in identifying opportunities to apply AI to improve revenue accounting processes, documentation, and reporting.

Compensation

Compensation for this position includes a base salary, equity, and a variety of benefits. The U.S. base salary range for this role is $100,000 - $125,000.
