The Senior Quantum Physicist will develop cryogenic hardware for spin qubit devices, lead experimental plans, and ensure effective technical communication.
Essential Duties:
Be a main contributor toward the development of cryogenic hardware supporting spin qubit devices and testing relevant environmental control requirements.
Must be able to lead resolution to hardware integration issues toward the development of advanced quantum test platforms. This includes the ability to develop an experimental plan and lead the successful execution. All of this should be completed through proper data analysis, modeling, and assimilating historical understanding.
Must be able to work with a dynamic integrated engineering team and collaborate with others in constructive manner.
Individual must have experience in technical communications to other team members or management via oral presentations, written reports and journal publications.
Required Skills:
Detailed knowledge and experience of modern experimental cryogenic physics techniques applied to quantum systems. This includes experience with low noise quantum measurement techniques that can help understand associated mechanical/electrical hardware issues.
Should have experience with scientific programming for data analysis and, familiarity with thermal modeling software.
Lastly, experience in scientific communication through technical presentations and journal publications.
Required Education:
Ph.D. in Physics, Applied Physics, or Electrical Engineering with at least 8 years of experience. Emphasis on cryogenic instrumentation supporting advanced quantum measurement techniques.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to climb ladders to use elevated test equipment.
Must be able to work safely in a laboratory environment. Must be able to work at a computer for extended periods.
Special Requirements:
U.S. citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain a US Government security clearance as required.
Compensation:
The base salary range for this full-time position is $163,150 - $209,088 + bonus + benefits.
