A role you will love
As a Senior Quality Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring software meets the appropriate quality standards before it is released into production. You will be embedded within a delivery team, partnering closely with developers, product owners, and business stakeholders to plan and execute testing activities, identify risks early, and prevent issues from impacting customers.
This role combines hands‑on testing and automation with leadership and influence across the team. You will operate independently, bring deep quality engineering expertise, and help guide best practices while continuously improving how quality is measured and delivered.
Other key responsibilities include:
- Lead test analysis, design, implementation, and execution activities
- Collaborate with stakeholders to clarify requirements and uncover implied risks
- Perform risk analysis to define optimal test coverage
- Apply formal test design techniques and maintain traceability between requirements and test cases
- Define test data strategies and environment requirements
- Design, implement, and maintain Playwright automation using TypeScript (POM, data‑driven, BDD concepts)
- Enhance and maintain Selenium/Java test suites for legacy applications
- Execute complex SQL queries for database validation and reconciliation
- Perform REST and SOAP API testing using Postman or SOAPUI
- Implement API automation (Playwright preferred)
- Conduct manual, exploratory, regression, and static testing across applications
- Design and execute performance tests using NeoLoad
- Integrate automated tests into Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines
- Manage test plans, defects, and execution within Azure DevOps
- Mentor team members and promote quality best practices
What will you bring to the role
Partnering closely with business and technology stakeholders, this role requires strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and a proactive mindset.
You will also bring:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree
- 8+ years of QA or application testing experience in enterprise environments
- 5+ years of test automation experience
- 5+ years of hands‑on manual testing experience
- 3+ years working in Agile/Scrum teams
- Proven experience leading testing efforts for complex, multi‑tier systems
- Full SDLC experience including planning, execution, and defect management
- Playwright automation experience (2+ years)
- Strong Java and JavaScript / TypeScript skills (4+ years)
- Azure DevOps (3+ years)
- Git / Azure Repos
- Postman or SOAPUI
- SQL (Oracle or MS SQL Server)
- API and database testing expertise
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills

Compensation: The typical base pay range for this role is $83,341.65 – $118,761.35 for Columbia, MD, $75,404.35 – $107,450.75 for Charlotte, NC and $79,373.00 – $113,106.05 for St Paul, MN
