Job Description:

The Opportunity

As a Senior Proposal Manager for Service Agreements, you will manage the development, standardization, and growth of Service Level Agreements and lifecycle service offerings across North America. You will serve as the primary commercial and proposal contact for long-term service agreements covering substation assets, including high-voltage equipment, transformers, medium- and low-voltage switchgear, protection systems, and associated digital monitoring solutions. You will develop scalable offerings, pricing methodologies, proposal frameworks, and contract structures that support accurate and timely quotations. Working across Service Sales, Operations, Product Management, Engineering, Finance, Legal, and Business Development, you will combine technical knowledge, commercial judgment, proposal management experience, and customer-facing contract capabilities to support Hitachi Energy’s HMAX and Service Agreement business.


How You’ll Make an Impact
  • Manage the development and optimization of SLA and HMAX offerings across North America.
  • Develop standardized service packages, coverage models, commercial structures, and repeatable lifecycle service frameworks.
  • Prepare strategic service agreement proposals and tenders aligned with customer priorities and business goals.
  • Coordinate technical, operational, and commercial inputs to deliver consistent, high-quality proposals.
  • Develop pricing models and methodologies for labor, travel, contingency, escalation, spare parts, and commercial risk.
  • Evaluate agreement profitability and risk while validating pricing assumptions and margins with Finance and Operations.
  • Support customer presentations, proposal reviews, contract negotiations, and commercial discussions.
  • Monitor industry trends, service models, competitor offerings, and opportunities to expand the service portfolio.
  • Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your Background
  • Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field; equivalent experience may be accepted in place of a degree.
  • 10 or more years of proposal development experience.
  • Technical knowledge, commercial acumen, proposal management capabilities, and customer-facing contract experience.
  • Ability to collaborate across Service Sales, Operations, Product Management, Engineering, Finance, Legal, and Business Development.
