About Morningstar

Empowering investor success is our mission and the reason we exist. With connected data, independent research, investor-first tools, and long-term portfolio strategies, Morningstar challenges what's hidden, complex, and inefficient — so nothing stands between investors and their goals.

Today, Morningstar supports a global investing ecosystem, with subsidiaries in over 30 countries, serving individual and institutional investors, financial advisors, asset managers, and more.

The Role

Agentic AI is changing how financial professionals work. We're building the tools that define that shift — and we need someone who understands what asset managers, wealth managers, and advisors actually need to get their jobs done.

As Senior Product Manager, Agentic Solutions, you'll own the discovery, validation, and delivery of high-impact use cases across Morningstar Direct and our agentic capabilities. You'll run experiments, talk directly with clients, and make evidence-based calls about what gets built and when. Ideas rise on merit here. Your judgment shapes the work.

You might come to this role from a career as an advisor, fund analyst, or at a financial software provider. You might have built your understanding of these workflows another way. What matters is that you understand this market — and that you can help us build tools that serve the people in it. Familiarity with Morningstar Direct or comparable research and analytics platforms is a plus.

What Success Looks Like

Success is measured by the clarity, validity, and impact of use cases — and by how quickly they move from discovery to production-ready agentic development.

What You'll Do

  • Own the subject matter expertise on the needs, processes, and workflows of asset managers, wealth managers, and advisors. Use that knowledge to shape how Morningstar's agentic capabilities evolve — so our tools stay ahead of how this market actually works.
  • Design and run experiments and prototypes to validate use cases, drawing on your understanding of AI software development to move the highest-confidence bets from discovery into development faster.
  • Define market requirements for data, analytics, and workflow needs in partnership with data and software development teams — ensuring the right capabilities are scoped and prioritized for development.
  • Partner with software, data, and solutions leaders to develop a product vision and execution plan. Work with engineering and design to prioritize the work that will have the most impact.
  • Work directly with prospects and clients to build awareness and adoption of Morningstar's agentic solutions — including live demos and feedback sessions that shape what we build next.
  • Collaborate with product marketing, sales, and client success teams. Gather client input and help internal teams understand what this market needs — so the right capabilities reach the right people.
  • Bring an awareness of responsible AI considerations — including bias, safety, privacy, and reliability — to how we develop and position agentic capabilities.

What You Bring

  • A bachelor's degree in finance, economics, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Five to ten years of relevant industry and/or product management experience.

This role is based in our Chicago office and requires working onsite 4 days per week.
