Job Description:

Amplify is a pioneer in K–12 education, partnering with educators to make learning rigorous and riveting for every student through next-generation curriculum and assessment. Our captivating core and supplemental programs in ELA, math, and science engage all students in rigorous learning and inspire them to think deeply, creatively, and for themselves. Today, Amplify serves over fifteen million students in all 50 states.

As a Senior Product Manager, you will lead cross-functional teams of writers, designers, interaction developers, learning scientists, and marketers to dream up, design, and deliver transformative classroom experiences.

Responsibilities:

  • Define the north star - set the vision, strategy, and 12–18 month roadmap for the curriculum that aligns with the company’s long-term goals and product strategy while solving immediate customer pain points and contribute insights that shape the 2-3 year company’s product portfolio vision

  • Deliver business impact - set quarterly OKRs for your product area in partnership with GPM/Director; hold yourself and team accountable for product-level outcomes. Monitor performance metrics and implement review cycles to ensure features drive customer retention, engagement, and revenue, and team success. Drive products through the stage gate process, owning deliverables and analysis for your product area. Partner with GPM on cross-product investment decisions.

  • Participate in planning - own and execute research initiatives, develop product concepts and plans to deliver business goals, create detailed release/execution quarterly plans with feature/task estimates in partnership with cross-functional team

  • Partner with Supply Chain - collaborate with Supply Chain to define physical components and product specifications (e.g., binding types, paper weight, durability), balancing classroom performance/durability expectations, instructional quality standards, and brand and safety requirements, while achieving margin targets

  • Be obsessed with your customers - passionately advocate for your users in all phases of product development. Conduct qualitative research (interviews, focus groups, observations) and quantitative analysis to deeply understand user needs and translate them into product priorities.

  • Leverage market intelligence - continuously analyze competitor curriculum offerings to identify gaps, differentiators, and winning features for the next edition/release. Observe industry trends and incorporate findings into future plans driving competitive advantage and differentiation.

  • Own end-to-end product delivery - lead products and the teams that create and enable them from ideation and requirement gathering to launch and post-launch iteration. Be ultimately accountable for product quality and scope, product and organizational readiness, PD strategy, and delivery timeline.

  • Lead product execution - lead ceremonies for multiple teams. Attend daily stand ups and work with APM/teams to ensure all blockers are resolved within 24 hours. Clearly provide broader context and goals to cross-functional teams for sprint plans and features.

  • Harness strategic influence - lead by influence, not authority. Align senior leadership and stakeholders (Sales, Marketing, CX) around your product vision, strategy and roadmap, and be the organization’s “go to” person for your products and features.

  • Enable go-to-market success - partner with Marketing, Sales and CX to develop positioning, internal training, and external messaging that ensures a successful product launch and market performance.

How you work…

  • You embrace innovation - identifying and prioritizing AI opportunities across your product area, shaping the roadmap leveraging AI capabilities like personalization, automation, and prediction to unlock new value for users and your teams. Partner with engineering to evaluate feasibility and bring AI experiences to market.

  • You communicate with confidence - representing the details of your product/features to your team and senior leaders alike.

  • You promote a culture of excellence - driving a high-performance team culture characterized by speed, curiosity, honesty, continuous improvement, and a focus on outcomes over outputs.

  • You focus on student and teacher outcomes over output - ensuring all product decisions ladder up to real-world value, scale effectively, and advance Amplify’s mission.

  • You are a master at creative problem solving - leaning into constraints and utilizing them to drive realistic solutions, not bogged down by them as limitations.

  • You leverage data for decisions - partnering with Research & Measurement and Data Science to measure and evaluate hypotheses and releases, and extracting associated insights to inform your product strategy and team.

  • You are a natural mentor - eager to share your expertise of product management with APMs and PMs to support their development.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of product management experience, ideally in a high-growth SaaS, ed tech, or consumer tech environment.

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field required or combination of education and direct experience. Advanced degree preferred.

  • Startup and growth experience - you’ve thrived in fast-moving environments where priorities shift and ownership is essential.

  • Proven track record of delivery - you’ve managed the end-to-end lifecycle of complex products, from vision through launch and iteration.

  • A team leader - you inspire teammates, put structure around ambiguity, and align diverse stakeholders.

  • Strong communication skills - you’re a great storyteller in words and writing. You can simplify complex concepts for diverse stakeholders and inspire confidence in leadership.

  • AI enthusiasm - you’re comfortable shaping AI-powered experiences, partnering with technical teams to evaluate opportunities and bring them to market.

  • Technical literacy - you’re comfortable working with complex technical domains and partnering with engineers to solve hard problems.
