Rain is the world's first AI Financial Health Platform, serving 3.5 million employees at leading organizations like McDonald's, Marriott, and T-Mobile. Rain works in the background to optimize every employee's financial life to prevent shortfalls and build long-term stability. Backed by top investors including QED and Prosus, Rain has raised $150M in venture funding to fuel our next stage of hyper growth.

About the Design Team

We are a small team of product-oriented designers that enjoy building and shipping impactful products. On top of that, we love winning.

We move fast and hold a high bar on craft. We care more about getting it right than getting it out fast, though we're quick when it counts. As a Senior Product Designer, you will own core product features and end-to-end user flows that directly impact hourly, shift-based workers across the country who depend on Rain to manage their financial lives. You'll work closely with product managers, engineers, and fellow designers to solve complex user problems and help evolve Rain Kit, our design system.

What You'll Do

  • End-to-End Execution: Own design solutions for key features and product initiatives — from early user research and wireframing to pixel-perfect, shipped UI.

  • XFN Collaboration: Work shoulder-to-shoulder with cross-functional pod partners (PMs, Engineers, Data) to turn requirements into clear, intuitive user experiences.

  • System Contribution: Use and contribute to Rain Kit (our design system), ensuring consistency, accessibility, and high visual craft across your feature area.

  • Prototyping & Communication: Create responsive prototypes — including AI-assisted workflows where useful — to effectively communicate user flows and interaction details to engineering and team stakeholders.

  • Iterative Design: Leverage data, user feedback, and usability testing to continually refine and optimize existing product experiences.

  • Raise the Bar: Maintain a high standard for visual craft, details, and micro-interactions within your core feature work.

Who You Are

  • You've shipped complex web and mobile product features end-to-end, and you can point to specific decisions in your portfolio and explain why you made them.

  • Your work shows strong visual design, mobile-first thinking, and the kind of polish that comes from caring about the last 10%.

  • You communicate design decisions clearly to PMs and engineers, and you take feedback well without losing the thread of what makes the work good.

  • You balance craft with shipping speed — you know when a detail matters and when it doesn't.

  • You're comfortable with ambiguity and can move a fuzzy problem toward a concrete product decision without much hand-holding.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 4+ years of product design experience (preferably in Fintech, TradFi, or mobile consumer tech).

  • Experience using and extending design systems in Figma.

  • Familiarity with modern prototyping workflows, including AI-assisted tools.

  • Strong portfolio showcasing native mobile (iOS/Android) design work.

  • Experience working effectively in remote or distributed teams.

Compensation:
This is a full-time position - range is $161,000-177,000/yr. Note this is a range and we take into account a variety of factors when determining total compensation for the position.

How we care for our team:
Along with competitive salaries, Rain offers great benefits including:

  • Flexible PTO

  • Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, Disability coverage

  • Parental leave

  • Monthly stipend

  • Equity options
