Senior Mechanical Engineer
We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Mt. Laurel, NJ office, supporting power generation and heavy industrial projects. This role involves providing mechanical system design expertise across all project phases — from concept and detailed design through construction, commissioning, and start-up. You’ll contribute to a wide variety of projects, including new simple and combined cycle power plants, nuclear facilities, and plant retrofit programs across the United States.
Key Responsibilities
Perform calculations for equipment and piping systems, including sizing, pressure loss, and flow analysis, to support the preparation of Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and procurement specifications.
Contribute to the creation and review of engineering drawings such as equipment layouts, piping orthographics, and isometrics.
Prepare and maintain critical engineering documentation including equipment, line, valve, and instrument lists.
Develop material take-offs and work-hour estimates to assist in proposal and project planning efforts.
Apply sound engineering judgment to resolve technical challenges, ensuring all designs meet applicable codes, standards, and project criteria.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
Minimum of 8 years of experience in mechanical design for power generation systems (water, steam, air, gas, and oil).
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in at least one U.S. state; eligibility for additional state licensure by comity is preferred.
Proficient in computer-based analysis and design tools.
Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills.
Strong ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Salary Range: $90,000-100,000
