ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Senior Manufacturing Engineer at Biofire, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the development and execution of high quality manufacturing and assembly of Biofire’s product at scale. We are looking for someone who is extremely detail oriented, process driven, demonstrate both design and mechanical aptitude, and have experience with the manufacturing and assembly of complex electro-mechanical systems to contribute to our Manufacturing team and help scale manufacturing from the ground up.
To succeed you will need to be able to deliver actionable insights from process data, implement scalable production systems, and validate robust manufacturing methods that ensure product quality, consistency, and efficiency. You will need to be a resourceful problem-solver, who is eager to transform early-stage manufacturing operations into a world-class, scalable production environment while aligning with Biofire’s mission of bringing innovative safety technology to market. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Senior Manufacturing Engineer at Biofire, you will be responsible for driving the scale-up of our advanced manufacturing systems. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

Develop and refine efficient production line layouts in collaboration with cross-functional teams;

Lead development and integration of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), including creation and management of Standard Work Instructions (SWIs);

Participate in the hands-on build and commissioning of production lines and workcells;

Design, test, and integrate assembly fixtures and tooling to support reliable and repeatable operations

Develop, document, and optimize manufacturing processes to improve quality, efficiency, and scalability;

Experience scaling manufacturing from prototyping to full production;

Background in fixture design and integration for automated or semi-automated assembly;

Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Kaizen, Six Sigma);

Familiarity with PLCs, sensors, and industrial automation components;

Comfortable working in a fast-paced, highly collaborative startup or early-stage environment;

The compensation range for this role is $130K - $150k/annual salary + stock options + benefits.
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
LOCATION
This is a full-time, salaried role. Our dog-friendly, state-of-the-art headquarters is located in beautiful Broomfield, Colorado, between Boulder and Denver. The team regularly engages in collaborative in-person sessions at our vibrant office space, but you will be offered the flexibility to work from home as needed.
