In this role you will be a hands-on technical leader, delivering best-in-class self-service integration capabilities and experiences to external partner developers and supply partners.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead multiple software engineering teams that design, build, and operate resilient, scalable Lodging Connectivity services, external APIs, and partner-facing developer tools, while dedicating approximately 50% of your time to hands-on software design, development, and delivery.

  • Personally design and build software systems, contribute production code, and own individual software delivery outcomes in addition to leading the broader engineering organization.

  • Safely integrate and operate AI/ML‑enabled and AI‑assisted solutions within connectivity systems to improve partner and traveler outcomes, including familiarity with AI-driven systems, tools, or workflows and applying AI/ML concepts to real-world products.

  • Define and drive technical direction and system design across key connectivity domains, including high-level and low-level design, API schema design, data modeling, and integration patterns with external lodging partners and internal platforms.

  • Establish and maintain high engineering standards for code quality, observability, reliability, and security, ensuring services are robust, well-instrumented, and compliant with organizational and industry expectations.

  • Partner closely with product, business, and operations stakeholders to translate complex lodging connectivity requirements into clear technical roadmaps, balancing delivery speed, quality, and long-term platform health.

  • Build, develop, and mentor a diverse team of software engineers and engineering managers, fostering a culture of ownership, collaboration, continuous improvement, and technical excellence across multiple domains.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent Level; Technical Degree Preferred.

  • 8+ years of relevant professional experience and 3+ years of people management experience.

  • Substantial professional experience in software engineering, including prior experience managing engineers and owning multi-service or domain-level systems in a production environment.

  • Proven ownership of complex, distributed services or platforms, including end-to-end responsibility for design, implementation, deployment, and ongoing operations.

  • Strong technical background in service-oriented or microservices architectures, system design (including LLD), API design, and data modeling, with hands-on familiarity enabling effective technical leadership.

  • Familiarity with AI-driven systems, tools, or workflows and applying AI/ML concepts to real world products, with the ability to guide teams in safely integrating such capabilities into production services.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience leading engineering organizations that operate large-scale, highly available, and secure connectivity or integration platforms, ideally in travel, e-commerce, or similarly complex domains and with a focus on the partner developer experience.

  • Familiarity with AI-driven systems, tools, or workflows and applying AI/ML concepts to real-world products, including safely integrating and operating AI/ML-enabled solutions that improve developer productivity, service quality, or partner experience.

  • Track record of driving architectural evolution for multi-service or domain-level systems, including refactoring legacy components, defining integration contracts, and improving performance, reliability, and observability.

  • Demonstrated excellence in operational leadership, including incident management, on-call practices, capacity planning, and building a culture of data-driven continuous improvement in production environments.

  • Experience using AI-assisted software development, intelligent testing, code analysis, or operational tooling in hands-on engineering work while maintaining robust governance, security, and compliance.
