Senior Manager, Finance - Commissions

Intapp is seeking a Senior Manager, Finance - Commissions to join our global accounting team. As a high growth, publicly traded SaaS company, Intapp partners with the world’s leading professional and financial services firms to power smarter, more connected businesses. This role will lead the end to end accounting and operational oversight of our sales commission programs. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical accounting expertise under US GAAP and ASC 606, proven team leadership experience, and a collaborative, service oriented approach to partnering with cross functional stakeholders.

What you will do: 

Commission Operations & Cross Functional Partnership

  • Partner with Sales Operations, Revenue, FP&A, Legal, Payroll, and HR to operationalize compensation plans and ensure alignment between plan design and accounting treatment

  • Provide excellent customer service in resolving commission inquiries, disputes, and escalations in a timely and professional manner

  • Translate complex compensation plans into clear accounting outcomes and operational processes

System & Process Optimization

  • Lead the administration and optimization of the Varicent incentive compensation system, including configuration, data integrity, user access management, and ownership of ITGC controls to ensure SOX compliance

  • Oversee and optimize the incentive compensation management platform, Varicent, ensuring data integrity and scalability

  • Lead process improvement initiatives to reduce manual calculations and improve automation across the commission lifecycle

  • Drive system enhancements and integrations to support growth and international expansion

Lead Commission Accounting & Close Process

  • Oversee the monthly and quarterly commission accounting process, including accruals, amortization of capitalized commissions, and reconciliation of commission related balance sheet accounts

  • Ensure accurate and timely recording of commission expense in compliance with US GAAP and ASC 606

  • Quarterly and annual reporting requirements

  • Utilize advanced NetSuite GL functionality to streamline month-end close, improve reporting accuracy, and enhance financial visibility across entities.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of three commission accounting professionals, including team members in international locations

  • Establish clear goals, performance expectations, and development plans

  • Foster a collaborative, accountable, and customer focused team culture

  • Lead special projects and cross functional initiatives impacting the commissions function

Ensure SOX Compliance & Internal Controls

  • Design, maintain, and enhance internal controls over commission calculations, data inputs, and accounting entries in a SOX compliant environment

  • Partner with Internal Audit and external auditors to support audit requests and walkthroughs

  • Continuously evaluate processes to mitigate risk and strengthen control effectiveness

What you will need:

  • 8–10+ years of progressive accounting experience, with significant experience in commission accounting within a SaaS or subscription based environment

  • Previous experience with system implementation and user requirement definitions

  • 3+ years of people management experience, including coaching and developing high performing teams

  • Strong technical knowledge of US GAAP, including ASC 606 and capitalization and amortization of sales commissions

  • Experience working in a publicly traded company with SOX compliance requirements

  • Experience with incentive compensation management tools such as Xactly, CaptivateIQ, or similar platforms

  • Demonstrated project management experience, with the ability to lead cross functional initiatives and system implementations

  • Strong customer service mindset and ability to partner effectively with Sales and executive stakeholders

  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical accounting concepts to non technical audiences
