Position Overview

Autodesk is building the Forma Industry Cloud, a next-generation solution redefining how the built environment is designed, delivered, and operated. Forma represents a fundamental shift: from files to granular data, from silos to hyper collaboration, and from traditional BIM to outcome-driven workflows powered by AI. It brings together people, processes, and intelligence across the AECO ecosystem to help the industry work smarter, faster, and more sustainably.

As AI rapidly reshapes architecture, engineering, construction, and operations, Autodesk is seeking a Senior Manager, AECO AI Strategy to define the strategic direction for AI within the industry cloud and across the AECO portfolio. This role is responsible for identifying high-value opportunities, shaping investment priorities, and guiding how Autodesk brings responsible, applied AI to market in ways that deliver measurable customer and business impact.

This highly strategic and cross-functional role reports directly to the Senior Director, AECO Industry Expansion Strategy and partners closely with product, research, industry leadership and other teams to ensure alignment and execution on Autodesk’s long-term AI vision.

Location : East Coast, United States, Remote

Responsibilities

AI Strategy and Portfolio Direction

  • Partner with product, research, and industry teams to define Autodesk’s long-term AI strategy for AECO
  • Identify, assess, and prioritize high-impact AI use cases across planning, design, construction, and operations
  • Develop frameworks that guide investment, differentiation, and integration of AI across Autodesk’s product ecosystem
  • Ensure AI initiatives align with the Forma Industry Cloud vision and broader portfolio strategy

Customer and Market Insights

  • Engage with customers, partners, and innovators to validate AI opportunities and future-state workflows
  • Translate technical AI capabilities into clear customer value propositions and outcome-driven use-case narratives
  • Bring market signals (competitive trends, industry shifts, adoption barriers) into Autodesk’s strategic planning

Decision Support & Strategic Alignment

  • Build executive-ready strategy briefs, analyses, and recommendations that inform prioritization and resource allocation
  • Drive cross-functional alignment on AI direction, ensuring product, GTM, and industry teams execute against shared priorities
  • Provide clarity on where AI creates differentiation versus where it scales efficiency or addresses core customer needs

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work with product and data science teams to ensure AI strategy is grounded in technical feasibility and customer workflow reality
  • Partner with GTM, marketing, and industry teams to ensure AI capabilities are positioned clearly and consistently

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, computer science, data science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 7+ years in AI strategy, product strategy, or innovation roles within AECO or the technology sector
  • Deep understanding of AECO workflows, data ecosystems, and industry challenges
  • Familiarity with AI technologies such as machine learning, generative design, predictive analytics, and automation
  • Experience influencing senior leadership and partnering across technical and non-technical functions
  • Plus: Experience with cloud platforms, data interoperability, or applied AI in design and construction contexts

The Ideal Candidate

  • Is strategic and technically fluent leader who understands how AI is transforming AECO
  • Is experienced in connecting AI capabilities to real-world customer workflows, business outcomes, and value creation
  • Is skilled at simplifying complex technical concepts into clear, actionable direction for product and business stakeholders
  • Is strong at navigating ambiguity and influencing across product, research, and executive teams
  • Is passionate about enabling responsible AI adoption in design, engineering, construction, and operations
