Position Overview:

Analytics Senior Manager - Game Analytics

Zynga is a leading developer of the world’s most popular social games, played by tens of millions of people around the world each day. The core mission of our game analytics teams is to transform sophisticated player data into clear, actionable business strategies that drive player engagement, retention, and significant revenue growth across your supported titles.

As an Analytics Senior Manager, you will lead and strategically guide the game analytics teams assigned to two of our key live titles: Harry Potter: Puzzles & Spells and Words With Friends, helping them provide insights and build data models that enhance the game—striving to provide our players with experiences that surprise and delight.

What You'll Do:
  • Showcase knowledge of game business KPIs and strategy and align the team accordingly.
  • Provide technical leadership and contribute expertise in product conceptualization and development.
  • Supervise the technical direction of projects, coordinating with production to ensure timely deliveries.
  • Enforce standard methodologies in developing all analytics tools and models.
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, and adherence to data governance policies across all analytics products and reporting.
  • Design and evaluate innovative ways to advance analytics at Zynga.
  • Work closely with Product leaders to make decisions that increase game engagement, retention, and revenue, ultimately improving the player experience.
  • Collaborate with other analytics leads to drive initiatives across single games and the larger organization.
  • Collaborate with other disciplines to free up dependencies, find opportunities, and mitigate risks.
  • Coordinate cross-functionally to ensure efficient prioritization of tasks.
  • Recruit and retain top talent.
  • Develop talent and steer career growth within the teams.
  • Actively mentor analysts and managers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and sharing of innovative analytical techniques.
  • Create a team environment where innovation, passion, and talent thrive.
  • Provide feedback and ideas for creative problem-solving.
What You Bring:
  • Deep product focus and expertise in game business KPIs, with a proven track record to translate data into actionable insights that improve the player experience and the business.
  • Demonstrated expertise in a range of analytical techniques, including some or all of the following: machine learning, data mining, predictive modeling, statistics, experimental design, computational analytics/optimization.
  • Proficiency with a data visualization or BI platform (e.g., Tableau, Looker, or similar) to build and maintain reporting dashboards.
  • Proficiency in both SQL and Python.
  • Exceptional presentation, storytelling, and interpersonal skills; demonstrated ability to influence senior product and business stakeholders and drive data-informed decisions.
  • Experience building and completing a roadmap of critical initiatives.
  • 3+ years of work experience in people management.
  • 6+ years of work experience in data science, machine learning, or analytics roles.
  • BS in Computer Science, Math, Statistics, Economics, or another quantitative field; a Masters or PhD is strongly preferred.
  • A passion for gaming and experience playing a variety of game genres.

The pay range for this position in Ontario at the start of employment is expected to be between $139,300 and $195,000 CAD per Year.

The pay range for this position in California at the start of employment is expected to be between $163,400 and $228,800 per Year.

The pay range for this position in Illinois at the start of employment is expected to be between $147,100 and $205,900 per Year.

However, base pay offered is based on market location, and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations.

Subject to those same considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a bonus and/or equity awards and eligibility to participate in our 401(K) plan and Employee Stock Purchase Program. Regular, full-time employees are also eligible for a range of benefits at the Company, including: medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance coverage; 14 paid holidays per calendar year; paid vacation time per calendar year (ranging from 15 to 25 days) or eligibility to participate in the Company’s discretionary time off program; up to 10 paid sick days per calendar year; paid parental and compassionate leave; wellbeing programs for mental health and other wellness support; family planning support through Maven; commuter benefits; and reimbursements for fitness-related expenses. The use of Artificial Intelligence is not being used to screen candidates.
