About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Lead Systems Operations Engineer that will help execute Platform Operations across COO Technology. The role will assist with Level 1 Command Center and Service Desk, Incident Management, Deployments, Batch Management, etc. to ensure timely detection and resolution of incidents. The role will focus on the delivery, optimization of services and migration of production management tasks that are handled by Level 2/SRE teams to Level 1.
Chief Operating Office Technology (COO Tech) group provides technology services for the Chief Operating Office. This includes operations, control executives, strategic execution, business continuity and resiliency, data solutions and services, regulatory relations, customer experience, enterprise shared services, supply chain management, and the corporate properties group. COO Tech provides technology solutions and manages application portfolios for these groups to support modernization and optimization.
In this role, you will:
  • Act as an advisor to senior leadership to develop or influence platform support solutions for highly complex business and technical needs or technology initiatives
  • Lead highly complex, broad impact initiatives including provision of high-level systems consultation for the technology teams related to large scale planning of computer systems and network infrastructure for Systems Operations functional areas
  • Lead the strategy and resolution of highly complex and unique challenges requiring in-depth evaluation across multiple areas or the enterprise, delivering solutions that are long-term, large-scale and require vision, creativity, innovation, advanced analytical and inductive thinking
  • Translate advanced technology experience, in-depth knowledge of the organizations tactical and strategic business objectives, the enterprise technological environment, the organization structure, and strategic technological opportunities and requirements into technical engineering solutions
  • Provide vision, direction and expertise to senior leadership on implementing innovative and significant business solutions
  • Maintain knowledge of industry best practices and new technologies and recommend innovations that enhance operations or provide a competitive advantage to the organization
  • Strategically engage with all levels of professionals and managers across the enterprise and serve as an expert advisor to leadership
  • Provide training and mentoring to less experienced team members on guidebook changes and lead team to meet technical deliverables, while leveraging solid understanding of technical process controls or standards
Required Qualifications:
  • 7+ years of Systems Engineering, Technology Architecture experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience supporting application platforms
  • Strong executive presence with the delicate yet deliberate ability to communicate and influence senior leaders to produce outcomes.
  • Proven experience leading or coordinating responses to complex, high-impact incidents in a large, matrixed organization
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical or operational issues into executive-level messaging
  • Demonstrated ability to operate calmly and decisively in high-pressure, time-sensitive situations at all levels of leadership and regulatory facing audiences
  • Background in financial services or other tightly regulated sectors
  • Understanding of control frameworks, critical initiatives, issue tracking, and policy exception procedures
  • Comprehensive knowledge of enterprise risk systems and reporting tools (such as ServiceNow, Power BI, Platform Analytics)
  • Proven capacity to work autonomously with senior-level responsibility and sound judgment
  • Prior involvement in matrixed technology organizations collaborating with platform and application teams
  • Strong executive presence, adept facilitation, results-driven mindset, meticulous attention to quality and detail, and a collaborative attitude
  • Skilled at preparing and presenting clear written and verbal communications (including emails and presentations), adjusting content and detail to suit the audience and purpose
  • Recognized as an effective leader through demonstrated business and technology expertise
  • Experience inspiring and guiding individuals or groups across departments, building trust and confidence for prompt decision-making
  • Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and presentation capabilities with both technical and non-technical audiences
  • History of thriving under demanding conditions
  • Strategic and analytical thinker focused on proactive problem-solving
  • Familiarity with observability and automation technologies
  • Experience supporting large-scale or enterprise financial services settings
  • Knowledgeable about incident severity models, crisis response, and business continuity strategies within enterprises
  • Experience collaborating with senior leadership, including executives, during major events
  • Expertise in technology incidents, cybersecurity, third-party risk, or operational risk areas
  • Familiarity with incident management tools, reporting processes, and metrics analysis

Pay Range
Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.
$191,000.00 - $305,000.00
