Position: Senior Global Logistics Manager

Location: North Austin, TX (Onsite)

Reports To: Vice President of Supply Chain

Travel: Approximately 20-30%, domestic and international

Position Summary

The Senior Global Logistics Manager designs, builds, and operates Infinitum's global inbound transportation network, including supplier shipments from Asia, Europe, Mexico, and the United States and motor shipments from Ramos Arizpe/Saltillo to Fan Systems Contract Manufacturers in the United States.

This is a hands-on leadership role. The manager will initially participate directly in logistics execution while building the lanes, carrier network, routing guide, systems, controls, and team capabilities required to scale. The role leads the Logistics Coordinator and progressively transitions routine transactions while remaining involved in critical, complex, expedited, and high-risk shipments.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and execute Infinitum's global inbound logistics strategy, including lanes, modes, carriers, transit times, service levels, capacity, and contingencies.

- Design and optimize supplier-to-manufacturing flows across Asia, Europe, and North America using consolidation, mode conversion, milk runs, and other network improvements.

- Lead selection, negotiation, and performance management of freight forwarders, carriers, and 3PLs across ocean, air, FTL, LTL, parcel, drayage, and expedited modes.

- Conduct transportation RFQs and negotiate freight contracts, rate cards, service levels, capacity commitments, and commercial terms; leverage total freight spend to improve cost and service.

- Develop and govern Infinitum's Global Routing Guide covering approved carriers, routing instructions, modes, transit expectations, consolidation, exceptions, and escalations.

- Own and initially participate in transportation execution from supplier pickup through delivery while establishing standard work for the Logistics Coordinator.

- Lead and develop the Logistics Coordinator responsible for pickup scheduling, carrier/supplier coordination, shipment tracking, delivery confirmation, status reporting, and records.

- Own transportation of motors from Ramos Arizpe/Saltillo to Fan Systems Contract Manufacturers, including lanes, service levels, visibility, carrier performance, and exceptions.

- Own inbound freight-cost performance and savings plans; analyze spend by carrier, mode, and lane to identify routing, consolidation, and utilization opportunities.

- Establish premium-freight governance; track spend by root cause and drive corrective actions to reduce recurring expedites.

- Establish and own a global inbound logistics control tower, dashboards, escalation thresholds, and operating cadence for proactive, exception-based shipment management.

- Partner with Import/Export while maintaining clear ownership: Logistics owns transportation execution; Import/Export owns customs compliance, brokers, classification, valuation, origin, IMMEX/Annex 24, permits, licenses, and regulatory requirements.

- Manage freight claims, damage, loss, carrier liability, and contingency plans for critical lanes and service disruptions.

- Partner with Sourcing and Purchasing on landed cost, Incoterms, logistics capability, and transportation risk.

- Standardize logistics procedures, carrier scorecards, QBRs, and continuous-improvement practices that reduce lead time, cost, variability, manual work, and premium freight.

Qualifications & Experience

Required

- 10+ years of progressive experience in global logistics, international transportation, inbound logistics, freight management, or related manufacturing supply chain roles.

- Demonstrated experience managing global inbound freight, including Asia-to-North America transportation and US-Mexico cross-border flows.

- Strong experience with ocean, air, truckload, LTL, parcel, drayage, and expedited transportation.

- Proven experience conducting transportation RFQs, negotiating freight contracts, and managing carriers, forwarders, and 3PLs.

- Experience developing transportation lanes, routing guides, carrier strategies, shipment visibility, logistics KPIs, and exception-management routines.

- Strong knowledge of transportation economics, consolidation, utilization, transit-time management, Incoterms, and total landed cost.

- Strong analytical and financial acumen; advanced Excel and experience with ERP, TMS, or shipment-visibility systems. NetSuite experience is a plus.

- Hands-on leadership and process-building experience; strong communication, negotiation, escalation, and team-development skills; ability to travel 20-30%.

Preferred

- Experience supporting high-growth manufacturing and global supply chains in electronics, motors, HVAC, industrial equipment, automotive, or electromechanical products.

- Experience designing logistics networks, origin consolidation, milk runs, or transportation optimization models across North America and Asia.

- Experience implementing or managing a TMS, logistics control tower, or shipment-visibility platform.

- Exposure to international trade and customs processes and a clear understanding of the Logistics / Import-Export interface.

- Lean, Six Sigma, APICS, CSCMP, or logistics certification is a plus; bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.

Competencies That Win in This Role

- Operational leadership: combines hands-on execution, disciplined process building, and team development.

- Logistics engineering and commercial acumen: designs effective networks and understands carrier economics, rates, contracts, and leverage.

- Data-driven management: uses cost, service, transit-time, and exception data to improve performance.

- Execution discipline and risk awareness: maintains visibility, escalates early, and resolves issues before they affect production or customers.

- Cross-functional influence: drives alignment across suppliers, carriers, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Import/Export, Finance, and Contract Manufacturing.

Key Performance Indicators

- Inbound transportation on-time pickup and on-time delivery.

- Transit time versus standard and shipment milestone accuracy.

- Freight spend versus budget and freight savings versus annual target.

- Premium freight spend, root-cause reduction, and Global Routing Guide compliance.
