The role
Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Build and run payments infrastructure for an online marketplace, spending most of your time on backend services and the rest on user-facing applications. You will own the systems that move money and keep accurate financial records, and extend them to support new financial offerings.
What you'll do
- Build and maintain payment flows that handle high-value transfers through outside processors and banking partners.
- Design and maintain the internal accounting records that track funds across the platform.
- Create additional record-keeping systems to support upcoming financial products.
- Divide your time between backend development, mainly in Python, and web and mobile front-end work.
- Work within a small payments group, picking up tasks from a ticket queue.
Requirements
What we're looking for
- 3 to 5+ years of experience as a full stack engineer, with a strong backend emphasis (about 70% or more backend).
- Hands-on experience with bank transfer methods such as ACH, wire and instant payment networks.
- Experience handling sizable transfers and maintaining a ledger-based accounting model.
- A background at a financial technology business that manages its own books of record.
- Proficiency in Python or TypeScript.
- Experience building front ends with React.
- Comfort using AI coding assistants as a regular part of your daily engineering routine.
Bonus points
- Mobile development experience, including React Native.
- Time spent at a young company or on a very small engineering team.
