About the role

Are you an experienced finance professional who gets energized by being in the room where decisions happen? Do you love building things and partnering with people across a company to make it run smarter? If so, we want to meet you.

As Senior Manager of FP&A, you'll own the financial planning function end-to-end, reporting to the VP of Finance and working closely with functional leaders. You'll lead a Senior FP&A Analyst and help build the team as Roo scales. The ideal candidate brings strong financial chops, a growth mindset, and a to become a trusted advisor across the organization.

ResponsibilitiesStrategic Partnership
  • Serve as a trusted financial advisor to functional leadership, proactively surface risks and opportunities with a point of view.
  • Lead cross-functional planning processes requiring you to align, challenge, and synthesize input from Sales, Product, Marketing, and Operations.
  • Translate financial complexity into clear, executive-ready insights for non-finance audiences.
Financial Planning & Analysis
  • Lead all forecasting: revenue, cash, operating model, and long-range forecasting.
  • Lead the annual budget process end-to-end, coordinating inputs across departments.
  • Develop and track KPIs that connect operational activity to financial outcomes.
  • Prepare ad hoc and ongoing reporting for internal teams, executives, and investors.
Operational Excellence & Team Leadership
  • Build scalable, repeatable processes for budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis.
  • Lead the FP&A team's AI adoption. Set the standard for AI fluency on the Finance team and mentor the FP&A Analyst accordingly.
  • Support implementation and administration of EPM/ERP systems as Roo scales.
  • Partner with Accounting to ensure accurate, efficient reporting.
  • Manage and develop the FP&A junior talent & contractors; build team scope and headcount over time.
About You
  • Strategic operator: Track record of influencing executive decisions, not just informing them. Trusted by leaders outside of Finance.
  • Cross-functional relationship builder: Naturally builds trust with GTM, Product, and Operations peers. Understands that Finance's credibility and efficacy depend on its relationships.
  • Growth Orientation: Intellectually curious and eager to drive continuous improvement through process enhancement and change.
  • Strong financial technician: 3-statement modeling, scenario analysis, unit economics. Technical foundation is table stakes; how you apply it is what matters.
  • Clear communicator: Writes and speaks in ways non-finance audiences can act on.
Qualifications
  • 8+ years of progressive FP&A experience in high-growth or startup environments.
  • Demonstrated experience as a cross-functional partner and strategic advisor to executive leaders — not just a financial analyst supporting them.
  • Hands-on AI/automation experience applied to FP&A workflows (required); must be able to speak to specific examples.
  • Advanced financial modeling: 3-statement, revenue forecasting, cash forecasting, LRP, and valuation.
  • Strong Google Sheets proficiency; experience migrating from Excel a plus.
  • Experience with EPM/ERP systems (e.g., QuickBooks, Netsuite, Adaptive, Aleph).
  • SQL and/or Python experience highly desired.
  • Bachelor's in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA or CFA a plus.
  • Prior experience managing direct reports preferred.
