The Senior Financial Analyst will conduct financial analysis for real estate investments, develop financial models, and support strategic decision-making processes.
Our SelectLeaders client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Financial Analyst to join their dynamic team. This individual will be responsible for providing financial analysis, strategic insight, and support for key decision-making processes across various real estate investments and business operations. The Senior Financial Analyst will collaborate closely with senior management and stakeholders to drive performance, enhance financial processes, and optimize long-term value creation.
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth financial analysis and valuation for a wide range of real estate investment opportunities including multifamily, commercial, and retail assets.
- Perform detailed analysis on portfolio performance, including DCF, IRR, cap rate, NAV, and sensitivity analysis.
- Lead the development of financial models for acquisitions, dispositions, and new developments, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and alignment with business objectives.
- Standardize reporting processes for financial statements, operating reports, and project updates for internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage quarterly net asset value (NAV) and fair market value adjustments, ensuring timely, accurate, and comprehensive reporting.
- Spearhead corporate-level budgeting and forecasting processes, providing a consolidated financial outlook across all subsidiaries.
- Collaborate with finance, accounting, and operational teams to develop and refine financial forecasting models.
- Drive performance analysis and profitability assessments for real estate assets, identifying key drivers and areas of opportunity.
- Support the real estate investment team in the acquisition, financing, and disposition processes, including underwriting, due diligence, and financial structuring.
- Assist in the preparation of pitch materials, investor presentations, and financial models for potential investments, joint ventures, and funding initiatives.
- Conduct industry and company analysis, assessing market conditions, competitive landscapes, and financial metrics to inform investment strategies.
- Lead efforts to evaluate the financial impact of strategic initiatives, such as new acquisitions, development projects, and joint ventures.
- Work cross-functionally with various teams to integrate financial analysis into the strategic planning and decision-making process.
- Provide actionable insights and recommendations based on detailed financial performance analysis to senior leadership.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (MBA or CFA preferred).
- Experience:
- 3-5 years of experience in financial analysis, investment banking, or real estate finance, with a strong background in real estate investment analysis and portfolio management.
- Demonstrated experience in underwriting large-scale real estate transactions (acquisitions, dispositions, and developments).
- Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, including DCF, IRR, NAV, and sensitivity analysis.
- Experience with real estate valuation methodologies, financial reporting, and budgeting.
- Exposure to multifamily, commercial, and retail real estate sectors is a plus.
- Skills:
- Strong technical skills in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and financial modeling tools
- Knowledge of real estate investment structures, financing, and transaction processes.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and quantitative skills.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial data to senior leadership and external stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Preferred:
- Strong experience with REIT structures, valuation methodologies (such as NAV, DCF, and comparables), and accounting principles related to real estate investments.
- Familiarity with financial modeling and analysis in the context of real estate investments, including pro forma analysis and forecasting.
- Knowledge of regulatory and tax considerations specific to REITs and real estate transactions.
- Experience working with institutional investors, lenders, and real estate partners, with a focus on investment analysis, due diligence, and capital markets.
- Advanced understanding of real estate financial statements and asset-level performance metrics (e.g., NOI, IRR, Cap Rate).
