The Senior Domain Data Steward serves as the primary domain authority and cross-functional connector across assigned USDI (e.g., Client & Household, Account, Portfolio & Performance, Advisor, Alternative Products, or Reference Data).

Working hand in hand with Data Product Managers, IT/Engineering teams, and Business Domain Owners, this role owns the end-to-end health, usability, and trust of wealth data assets. The Domain Data Steward bridges business intent and technical delivery—ensuring data across operational wealth engines and analytical environments is inherently trusted, high-quality, regulatory-defensible, and structurally aligned to power core business operations, advisor tools, and executive analytics.

Responsibilities:

  •  Co-Own Domain Roadmaps: Partner directly with Data Product Managers to translate business domain priorities, operational friction points, and consumer needs into prioritized product backlogs and technical delivery milestones.
  •  Define Data Trust Standards: Establish domain-specific quality benchmarks, validation rules, and business acceptance criteria for Data Product Managers and IT Engineers to embed directly into software development lifecycles (SDLC) and data pipelines.
  •  Drive Business Adoption: Act as the primary advocate for the domain to business consumers (advisors, wealth operations, executive reporting)—building confidence in data assets, accelerating self-service analytics, and driving adoption of certified data products.
  •  Proactive Observability & Profiling: Conduct independent data profiling and investigation using SQL and data observability tools to detect anomalies, schema drifts, and pipeline breaks.
  •  Root-Cause Incident Resolution: Lead cross-functional triaging of domain data defects, partnering directly with Data Engineering teams to implement permanent technical fixes rather than temporary workarounds.
  •  Data Flow & Ecosystem Integrity: Validate end-to-end data flows across core wealth platforms to ensure data consistency as information transitions from operational platforms into cloud data warehouses and analytical layers.
  •  Operationalize Privacy & Controls: Partner with Risk, Information Security, and Engineering to implement client data protection, entitlement models, and privacy standards inside data products.
  •  Audit & Regulatory Readiness: Ensure domain data is complete, traceable, and compliant with critical regulatory mandates.
  • Cross-Team Alignment: Serve as the connective tissue aligning Business Domain Owners, Data Product Managers, and IT Engineering around a unified vision for data quality and operational excellence.

Education & Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Data Management, Information Systems, Finance, Business, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Experience: 8–10+ years of experience in data stewardship, data management, business analysis, or private wealth operations.
  • Domain Expertise: Strong functional knowledge of Private Wealth Management processes and structures (e.g., client onboarding, household hierarchies, trust/fiduciary accounting, portfolio accounting, alternative investments, or GIPS performance metrics).
  • Technical Proficiency: Hands-on ability to write SQL queries to independently profile datasets, validate data models, trace data lineage, and debug data issues alongside engineering teams.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Demonstrated success collaborating with agile software delivery teams, Data Product Managers, and technical engineers to prioritize backlogs and build trusted data assets.
  • Wealth Platforms: Operational familiarity with core wealth enterprise systems.
  • Data & Delivery Stack: Hands-on experience with cloud data platforms and observability/collaboration tools.
