Join ServiceTitan's Engineering leadership team and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our data capabilities. We're seeking a visionary Senior Director of Engineering to drive innovation across our Data Platform with a focus on building a real-time data lake.

In this role, you'll lead a talented team of engineers and architects, fostering a culture of excellence and driving the development of cutting-edge platforms that empower our business and customers. What you'll do: 

Strategic Leadership:

  • Provide strategic vision and technical leadership for both the Data Platform (real-time data lake)).

  • Collaborate with senior engineering, product, and business leaders to align platform development with business objectives.

  • Drive the adoption of best practices in data engineering, and software development.

Data Platform Innovation:

  • Lead the development and evolution of our next-generation, real-time data lake, enabling seamless data ingestion, processing, and analysis.

  • Architect and implement scalable data pipelines, optimizing for latency, cost, and throughput.

  • Define and enforce data management practices, including data modeling, ETL, and data warehousing principles.

  • Implement data streaming solutions that enable real time analysis of data.

Team Leadership & Growth:

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a diverse, multi-location team of data engineers, and architects.

  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

  • Partner with the leadership to manage career paths and talent development.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with product managers and business stakeholders to deliver high-impact solutions.

  • Represent ServiceTitan in the technology community and build strong relationships with customers.

  • Partner with peer engineering executives to ensure a cohesive engineering organization.

Operational Excellence:

  • Drive project execution throughout the entire software development lifecycle, mitigating risks and ensuring timely delivery.

  • Implement and maintain robust monitoring, alerting, and debugging systems.

What you'll need: 

  • ~15 years of software engineering experience, with at least 7 years in a leadership role.

  • Proven experience building and scaling high-performance data platforms.

  • Deep expertise in data streaming technologies (e.g., Kafka, Azure Event/IoT Hub, Kinesis).

  • Extensive experience with data pipeline tools (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Flink, Spark, Pinot, Clickhouse).

  • Strong understanding of cloud-based data storage and databases (e.g., Azure Data Lake, Snowflake, Synapse).

  • Experience with infrastructure automation (Docker, Kubernetes).

  • Proficiency in data workflow management (e.g., Airflow, dbt).

  • Strong understanding of distributed systems and RESTful APIs.

  • Excellent communication and technical writing skills.

  • Experience with Microsoft technology stack and related development tools.

  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and learn quickly.

  • B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

ServiceTitan is committed to fair and equitable compensation for all of our employees. We thoughtfully consider a wide range of factors when determining individual compensation. The expected salary range for this role for candidates residing in the United States is between $269,000 USD - $359,800 USD. Compensation for candidates residing outside the United States will vary by location and the specific salary range will be discussed during the hiring process. Actual compensation for an individual may vary depending on skills, performance over time, qualifications, experience, and location. In addition to the base salary, the total compensation package also includes an annual bonus, equity and a holistic suite of benefits.
