We’re building a modern ELT data system and looking for an experienced and driven data engineering leader to manage our data teams, establish our technical excellence, and build our engineering processes for a growing data company. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders across Product, Engineering, and Data Operations to ensure timely, high-quality data is always available to support mission-critical analytics and product capabilities. Responsibilities

Define and lead the long-term strategy for our data platform, including ingestion, transformation, testing, and delivery

Architect scalable and reliable ELT pipelines using Snowflake, dbt, prefect, and Python-based frameworks

Implement engineering best practices across CI/CD, version control, test automation, observability, and cloud operations

Build and mentor a high-performing data engineering team, developing engineers and future leaders

Partner closely with the Director of Data Operations to align on delivery timelines, team responsibilities, and platform direction

Own operational excellence for the platform, driving improvements in performance, cost, and data quality

Lead through influence and clarity, promoting a culture of collaboration, accountability, and real communication

Identify engineering and architectural gaps and develop a plan to address these gaps

Evaluate and integrate modern data tools and vendors (e.g., Airbyte, Great Expectations, Atlan, etc.) to accelerate the roadmap

Ensure quality, availability, and accessibility of our data to product, marketing, and customer teams
Skills & Requirements
-
10+ years of experience in data engineering or software engineering roles, including 3+ years in technical leadership at the Director+ level. Proven ability to mentor, coach, and motivate while building effective data organizations

Deep experience building data platforms in cloud-native environments, ideally with AWS, Snowflake, dbt, and Python

Proven success leading high-impact teams working on ELT pipelines, orchestration systems, and data modeling frameworks

Expertise in modern engineering practices, CI/CD, test automation, code reviews, infrastructure as code

Familiarity with AWS services including S3, Lambda, Step Functions, and IAM

Experience mentoring engineers and leading through others, especially in cross-functional teams

Strong decision-making abilities. Able to break down complex problems into iterative solutions that balance the product roadmap with infrastructure improvement

Ability to collaborate across disciplines, balancing product needs with platform scalability and long-term technical quality
-
Background leading engineering in SaaS companies
Preferred Qualifications
-
Experience with data quality frameworks (e.g., Great Expectations, dbt tests), data contracts, and data observability (e.g., Monte Carlo)

Experience with Spark ETL systems

Familiarity with tools like Airbyte, Fivetran, Airflow, Prefect, Dagster and/or similar ingestion/orchestration solutions

Experienced with identity resolution, data platforms, and/or large-scale data product development
-
Experience supporting compliance or security initiatives (SOC 2, GDPR)
-
Experience in the hospitality industry

All positions are fully remote.

Compensation Range: $185K - $215K
