At AbsenceSoft, we’re transforming the employee experience. Our secure, intuitive technology helps employers bring humanity, certainty, and efficiency to some of the most complex moments in the workplace. Built by HR professionals for HR professionals, we’re proud of where we’ve been and even more excited about where we’re going.

The Senior Director, Product - Compliance & Platform leads the two product foundations AbsenceSoft depends on: the compliance engine that delivers broad coverage of leave and accommodation law, and the enterprise-scale platform it runs on. This role owns strategy, roadmap, and outcomes across both, leads the product managers, domain experts, and platform product leaders who build them, and reports to the Chief Product Officer. The role carries decision rights over a large share of the product and accountability for the retention, expansion, and win-rate outcomes that comes with it. This is a hands-on leadership role that works directly in strategy, prototyping, and customer engagement alongside the team.

What You'll Do

  • Own the strategy, roadmap, and results for compliance and platform, including the retention, expansion, and win-rate outcomes they drive.
  • Develop strategy collaboratively with the team, with each product manager and domain expert owning the direction of their area and consolidating those into a single plan the group can stand behind.
  • Extend AbsenceSoft’s compliance coverage as leave and accommodation laws change, keeping the product current across jurisdictions.
  • Set the direction for an enterprise-scale platform that customers and partners rely on: configuration, identity and access, integrations, and data. Own how enterprise customers adopt, extend, and stay on it.
  • Build, coach, and develop a team of product managers, domain experts, and managers, raising standards for product craft, delivery speed, and AI-enabled ways of working.
  • Maintain high delivery standards in partnership with Engineering and integrate AI into the product with the accuracy and governance that enterprise customers and their legal teams expect.
  • Partner with Engineering, Legal, Customer Experience, Sales, Marketing, and Finance, and represent compliance and platform to executive leadership, the board, and customers.
  • Participate in a highly compliant environment while assisting to maintain company controls and security within your job role.
  • Assist in maintaining applicable organizational security and compliance controls within your department, role, and subordinate’s roles.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What You'll Bring

Required:

  • 15+ years in product management, including 5+ years leading product managers and experience leading managers or multiple product areas simultaneously.
  • Proven experience owning a compliance, regulatory, or rules-engine product at enterprise scale (RegTech, tax, payroll, benefits, healthcare, fintech, or HR compliance). This is a core requirement for the role.
  • Proven experience owning a multi-tenant enterprise platform, including identity and access, configuration, integrations and APIs, or data.
  • Track record of shipping complex products on committed dates for demanding enterprise customers, with a clear personal contribution to holding delivery commitments.
  • Experience shipping AI features into production in an accuracy-critical domain, with rigorous evaluation and governance.
  • Demonstrated ability to set product strategy that improved ARR, retention, or win rate, supported by measurable results.
  • Enterprise B2B SaaS experience with strong data fluency, including scaling a product from mid-market to enterprise.

Preferred:

  • Domain experience in leave and absence, benefits, employment law, or HR tech.
  • Experience working directly with legal and regulatory experts to translate requirements into product.
  • Experience in high-growth, scaling SaaS environment.

Key Skills & Behaviors:

  • Strong bias for action and speed in decision-making and delivery.
  • Communicates with clarity and authority, earning the trust of senior customer stakeholders including CHROs, General Counsel, and CIOs.
  • Highly autonomous, with the ability to set direction in ambiguity with minimal guidance.
  • Builds a deep understanding of the work by learning alongside the people who do it.
  • Customer-obsessed, with deep instincts for product quality.
  • Builds, coaches, and develops high-performing product leaders and teams.
