YouGov has an exciting opportunity open for a VP Analytics to come and work for a Global Online Research Company, offering insight into what the world thinks.
We are seeking a talented and self-motivated VP Analytics to join our Data Products team. This role is responsible for development and evaluation of research methodologies for our data products, and the communication of those sets of analysis through white papers, ad hoc reports, and in-person presentations. The role involves collaboration with data analysts to support these projects, as well as independent contributions. The role is critical in the project management, resource management, implementation, and communication of broad methodological enhancements for our data products. This is a hands-on role that requires both analytical, communication, and project management skills.

About the team

We develop models and predictions using a combination of surveys, voter databases, census microdata, behavioral tracking and other sources. We handle the most difficult data problems at our company, including massive datasets, missing data, self-selection, measurement error, fraud detection, attrition, and many more.

Here’s a breakdown of what you’ll do (not all of it, just the important stuff):
  • Solve difficult data problems when they arise and explain solutions clearly to business leaders.
  • Collaborate with product managers to improve the quality of data and analytics in our products.
  • Introduce new methods and techniques into our data products suite, such as causal inference, machine learning, and generative AI.
  • Exercise considerable creativity, foresight, and judgment while working independently on complex research projects – including methods selection, techniques, and evaluation criteria.
  • Author white papers, prepare ad hoc reports, and deliver in-person presentations to communicate results.
  • Work collaboratively with the existing data science team.
These are the essentials you’ll need to get an interview:
  • Master's or Ph.D. in social science, statistics, business, or other field focused on empirical research with survey data.
  • Experience and understanding of market research and data analysis, including familiarity with modern statistical, econometric, and machine learning techniques.
  • Computational skills: strong R programming skills, with the ability to recruit, train, and manage technical talent.
  • Ability to write clean, maintainable, well-documented code.
  • Ability to connect data with business problems.
  • Skilled at communicating results and research methodology though reports
  • Excellent project manager with exceptional collaboration skills displaying ability to work cross functionally pursuing the best interest of the company

For roles based in California, New York, Colorado or Washington State, the base salary hiring range for this position is 150,000 USD - $200,000 USD. Compensation offered will be determined by multiple factors including location, job-related knowledge, skills and experience. Certain roles may be eligible for incentive compensation and additional benefits. All US based full time employees are eligible for the following benefits:

  • Paid vacation, holidays and sick days
  • Flexible working arrangement available
  • Group medical, dental and vision insurance
  • Company-paid life and disability insurance
  • Paid parental leave
  • 401(k) with company match
