Section 1: Position Summary

AGS Technology is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to help elevate our engineering maturity, modernize our delivery pipelines, and improve the reliability and scalability of our platforms. You will work alongside high‑performing DevOps, SRE, and software engineering teams, supporting cloud-native platforms, automation initiatives, and modern observability practices. This is a high‑impact role where you will influence architecture, tooling, engineering standards, and operational excellence across Government Savings Technology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead design, implementation, and optimization of CI/CD pipelines using modern tools and DevOps best practices.
  • Architect and maintain scalable, resilient, cloud‑based infrastructure (AWS preferred).
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) standards using tools like Terraform.
  • Enhance observability, monitoring, and alerting systems to improve reliability and reduce operational toil.
  • Partner with Dev, SRE, Architecture, and QA teams to support feature delivery, performance, and system stability. 
  • Drive automation across build, deployment, configuration, and environment management workflows.
  • Evaluate emerging tools, patterns, and practices to keep AGS on the cutting edge of DevOps maturity.
  • Provide mentorship and technical leadership to DevOps engineers and cross‑functional partners. 
  • Support production environments, including on‑call participation as necessary. 
Required Qualifications
  • 8+ years of DevOps experience in a major tech organization or large‑scale enterprise environment.
  • Deep expertise in:
    • Cloud platforms (AWS strongly preferred). 
    • CI/CD tooling such as GitHub Actions, GitLab Pipelines, Jenkins. 
    • Infrastructure as Code (Terraform). 
    • Containerization & orchestration (Docker & Kubernetes).
  • Solid understanding of microservices architectures, networking, load balancing, and security. 
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and documentation skills.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with:
    • Observability tools (New Relic, ELK, Splunk).
    • Secrets management (Vault).
    • Additional automation tools (Chef, Argo, SonarQube).
  • Experience using Helm as part of Kubernetes‑based deployments (chart management, values files, upgrades).
  • Exposure to service mesh technologies (Istio). 
  • Familiarity with enterprise release processes and complex multi‑environment deployments.

The national average salary range for this role is  120-165k in base pay, exclusive of any bonuses and benefits. This base salary range represents the low and high end of the salary range for this position. Actual salary offered will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, performance, and internal pay alignment.
