We are seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager to lead complex IAM initiatives across the enterprise. In this role, you will serve as the primary delivery owner for identity and access management projects, translating business requirements into technical roadmaps, coordinating across infrastructure, security, and application teams, and ensuring projects deliver value on time and within scope. You will combine strong project management discipline with hands-on technical understanding of IAM platforms, controls, and architectures.
This position sits at the intersection of business delivery, technical architecture, and operational governance. You will manage initiatives ranging from platform migrations and policy implementations to new capability deployments and organizational transformations in IAM.
What You'll Do
Project Planning and Scope Management
- Define project charters and scope for IAM initiatives, breaking implementations into manageable workstreams and phases
- Develop schedules, resource plans, and cost estimates with technical leads
- Establish success criteria and KPIs aligned with business objectives
Stakeholder Coordination and Communication
- Lead governance boards and steering committee reviews
- Communicate status, risks, and decisions to technical and business audiences
- Coordinate across infrastructure, security, applications, and business teams, managing dependencies and escalations proactively
Technical Delivery Oversight
- Provide technical project leadership on platform implementations (Okta, CyberArk, Saviynt, etc.)
- Track and manage technical workstreams from design through deployment
- Collaborate with architects and engineers to ensure solutions meet requirements, standards, and compliance
Risk and Change Management
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks
- Develop and execute change management plans for organizational transitions
- Plan and manage cutover activities, rollbacks, and contingencies, supporting post-implementation review
Operations Enablement and Training
- Coordinate training and documentation for operations and support teams
- Develop operational runbooks and procedures for new capabilities
- Support knowledge transfer and team readiness
Metrics and Continuous Improvement
- Track and report project metrics (schedule variance, budget variance, scope adherence)
- Monitor value realization against post-implementation targets
- Identify and implement process improvements in IAM delivery
What We're Looking For
- Strong knowledge of IAM platforms/architectures (Okta, Active Directory, PAM, IGA) and identity governance/compliance controls
- Advanced project management skills (planning, scheduling, budgeting, risk) with Agile/Waterfall/hybrid experience
- Excellent stakeholder communication and ability to translate technical architecture into business context
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, business, or related field
- 10+ years in project/program management; 5+ years managing IAM, security, or enterprise IT projects
- 3+ years hands-on with enterprise IAM platforms (Okta, Saviynt, or equivalent); proven success leading complex multi-team initiatives and platform migrations
Preferred Qualifications
- PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent certification
- Cloud platform experience (AWS, Azure, GCP) and SAFe/agile facilitation
- Knowledge of IAM governance standards (NIST, CIS, SOC 2) and zero-trust frameworks

The US national base salary range for this position is from
$88,200.00 - $163,800.00The national range provided includes the base salary that Amex GBT expects to pay for the role. Actual base salary will be based on factors including the scope and complexity of the role and the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, knowledge, and work location.
In addition to base salary, the anticipated range of which is posted above, this role is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, which rewards participants based on company and individual performance.
