In this role, you will:
- Review and analyze moderately complex processes and projects, business, operational, or technical challenges that require an in-depth evaluation of variable factors related to commercial credit and underwriting
- Receive direction from leaders
- Exercise independent judgment while developing the knowledge to understand function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
- Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
- Interact with internal customers
- Prior underwriting experience in a commercial lending role, prior experience with credit policy and credit policy adherence, very familiar with procedures and control environment with ability to review and possibly draft such procedures.
- 4+ years of Credit Risk experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 3+ years of commercial credit experience, in a secured lending environment, either asset based or cash flow lending in a First Line of Defense position.
- Project management skills attained through managing projects or leading projects to completion.
- Familiarity with credit policy, procedure and control environments
- Working knowledge of Payment Network Rules (VISA, Mastercard, American Express)
- Excellent collaboration, communication and project management skills
- Ability to execute strategy change(s) from design phase through implementation
- Ability to clearly and concisely communicate (both written and verbal) with business partners, peers and senior management and lead discussions
- Outstanding problem-solving skills with the ability to exercise independent judgment to identify and resolve problems
- Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment; strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal direction; ability to exercise independent judgment and apply prudent risk mitigation principles
- Intermediate Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) skills
- Commercial lending experience with subject matter expertise in fundamental cash flow analysis, understanding credit risks in changing economic environments both on a micro and macro level
- A BS/BA degree or higher
