Job Description

Ameriprise Financial is seeking a Senior Compensation Operations Analyst to support the administration and execution of global compensation programs. This role partners closely with Compensation, HRBPs, and other stakeholders to ensure compensation processes are executed accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with established controls.
The position plays a key role in annual compensation cycles, incentive administration, operational governance, data validation, reporting, audit support, and process improvement. Successful candidates will bring strong analytical skills, operational discipline, and experience managing compensation or HR-related programs in a complex environment.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Support and execute large-scale, global annual compensation processes including merit, incentive, and year-end compensation activities.  

  • Perform data validation, audits, reconciliations, and quality reviews to ensure compensation accuracy.  

  • Partner with Compensation, HR Systems, Payroll, Finance, and other stakeholders to administer compensation programs and resolve issues.  

  • Support compensation system testing, UAT activities, and process enhancements.  

  • Create and maintain process documentation, SOPs, job aids, and training materials.  

  • Prepare reports, dashboards, and analyses to support compensation operations and decision-making.  

  • Support SOX, audit, compliance, and governance activities.  

  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, controls, and operational efficiency. 

Required Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. 

  • 3+ years of experience in Compensation, Compensation Operations, HR Operations, Payroll Operations, HRIS, or related functions. 

  • Experience supporting compensation programs, annual compensation cycles, incentive administration, or related operational processes. 

  • Strong analytical skills, including data validation, reconciliation, reporting, and problem-solving. 

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. 

  • Experience handling confidential information with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. 

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills. 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • 5+ years experience 

  • Experience supporting merit planning, incentive administration, and year-end compensation activities. 

  • Experience working with global compensation programs. 

  • Experience supporting SOX, audit, compliance, or operational control processes. 

  • Experience with Workday, compensation planning tools, HR systems, or reporting platforms. 

  • Experience creating operational documentation and training materials. 

  • Financial services or other highly regulated industry experience. 

In-Office Collaboration

Our employees work in the office at least four (4) days per week, with flexibility to work from home one (1) day per week. Some roles may require additional in-office time or different in-office expectations, and specific requirements will be discussed during the hiring process.

Base Pay Salary

The estimated base salary for this role is $81,700 - $112,300/ year. We have a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy. Your initial total compensation may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographical work location. In addition, most of our roles are eligible for variable pay in the form of bonus, commissions, and/or long-term incentives depending on the role. We also have a competitive and comprehensive benefits program that supports all aspects of your health and well-being, including but not limited to vacation time, sick time, 401(k), and health, dental and life insurances.
