Job Overview:

We are looking for an inspired innovative Senior Developer for our cloud transformation journey, with background in development of high throughput mission critical business applications, leveraging AWS technologies with .Net, SQL Server and PostgreSQL. The individual will need to be well versed in financial, trading and advisory technologies. As a trusted engineer, you will be working cross-functional teams to ensure development, deliver quality and meet deadlines. This is a Techno functional hands-on, technical role in the trading organization that will design, architect and develop cloud-native and on-prem services to support LPL’s overall cloud strategy and transformation.

Responsibilities:

The candidate will serve as a solution expert, responsible for development and delivery of critical trading applications meeting business goals. The role will require flexible thinking as the team works to integrate existing business and technology concepts with innovative design to deliver a practical and scalable platform. 

Responsibilities:

  • Be part of a tech team to design, develop, test and implement technical solutions based on business requirements and strategic direction utilizing AWS cloud native technologies (EC2, S3, ECS, EKS, ELB, RDS, R53, Lambda, API Gateway, RDS).

  • Deep understanding and seasoned on cloud migration strategies with AWS and e2e SDLC.

  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including architecture, data, product, and business partners, and strategies to scale and modernize existing trading platforms.

  • Work collaboratively with quality assurance engineering teams, DevOps and PMO to ensure all SDLC processes and Agile best practices are followed.

  • Code and implement guardrails to enable self-service and frictionless delivery allowing teams to build and own end-to-end applications and services in the cloud.

  • Formulating workable solutions to complex challenges, logically deliberating on courses of action by examining and challenging assumptions, discerning hidden value, objectively evaluating evidence, and assessing conclusions.

  • Measure success by say/do, velocity, defect remediation, and clear value to the trading platforms.

  • Provide technical leadership to teammates through technical design and implementation of industry best practices adhering to LPL’s modernization practices, cloud practices, SDLC and release management processes.

  • Provide production support, maintain, troubleshoot, optimize and enhance trading platforms/applications.

  • Ensure service level agreements and contingency activities are covered related to system/application availability ensuring zero Advisor experience disruption.   

Requirements:

  • BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

  • 8+ years of progressive experience in owning and driving full stack applications as hands on Senior Engineering member - guiding, solutioning, delivering and documenting team’s development efforts towards successful project delivery and application support.

  • 6+ years of hands on designing/deploying/migrating on-prem windows services, .Net apps and databases to AWS.

  • 6+ years of hands on experience with Kafka and event driven architectures/patterns.

  • 6+ years of related experience in capital markets with a strong understanding of trading intraday flows and financial industry. 

  • A master of .NET Framework, C#, .Net Core, SQL Server and NOSQL DBs (PostgreSQL preferable).

  • Strong background on improving application resiliency, scalability and overall system performance.

  • Strong understanding and interest in production incident management process, application support and monitoring tools leading to timely triage, detection, debugging and resolution of production incidents and reduction in MTTR.

Core Competencies:

  • Experience with owning and production support of mission critical applications. 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, both technical and non-technical.

  • Strong estimation, foresight, analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to interface effectively with senior SVP/EVP level executives and business stake holders.

  • Capable of effectively planning, prioritizing and executing tasks utilizing resources and tools.

  • Experience working with offshore teams and contingent workers.

  • Experience championing Agile methodologies for accomplishing delivery deadlines.  

Preferences:

  • Experience working in trading domain with knowledge of backend trading and order execution workflows.

  • Experience with on-prem to cloud migration/transformation.

  • Experience working with global delivery teams.

Pay Range:

$106,125-$176,875/year
 
Actual base salary varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
