In This Role

In this role, you will support the development, standardization, documentation, and continuous improvement of business processes within a large-scale global project controls and capital-project environment.

You will partner with subject-matter experts and stakeholders across project controls, engineering, finance, procurement, supply chain, and related operational functions to understand current processes, identify gaps, and define clear, standardized ways of working.

You will translate complex operational and system-driven workflows into practical process documentation, including standard operating procedures, process maps, swimlane diagrams, quick-reference guides, user guides, and training materials. You will also support process governance and adoption by ensuring documentation remains accurate, consistent, user-friendly, and aligned with evolving business requirements, systems, and controls.

This is a hands-on process design and documentation role requiring strong business-process management, technical-writing, process-mapping, and stakeholder-facilitation capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with subject-matter experts to gather, validate, and document business-process requirements.
  • Define and document current-state and future-state business processes.
  • Develop, maintain, and update standard operating procedures for global project controls and related operational functions.
  • Create end-to-end process flows, workflow diagrams, and cross-functional swimlane maps using Microsoft Visio.
  • Translate complex business, technical, and system workflows into clear, standardized, and user-friendly documentation.
  • Develop quick-reference guides, user guides, job aids, process manuals, and other enablement materials.
  • Create training content to support new-process rollouts, system implementations, reporting and analytics launches, business-continuity initiatives, and digitization efforts.
  • Collaborate with organizational change management and project teams to convert process changes into practical, role-specific training content.
  • Document processes associated with enterprise resource planning, procurement, contract-management, planning, and project-control systems.
  • Ensure process documentation reflects applicable controls, compliance requirements, system capabilities, and governance standards.
  • Facilitate process-review and alignment discussions with stakeholders across project controls, engineering, finance, procurement, and supply chain.
  • Identify process gaps, inefficiencies, unclear handoffs, duplication, and opportunities for simplification or standardization.
  • Support process-improvement and digital-transformation initiatives across a large enterprise environment.
  • Define or support process-performance measures, including key performance indicators and objectives and key results.
  • Maintain document consistency through established templates, terminology, formatting, version control, and review standards.
  • Manage documentation updates as business processes, systems, tools, organizational structures, and requirements evolve.
  • Coordinate stakeholder reviews, incorporate feedback, and obtain necessary approvals.
  • Produce accurate, complete, and high-quality deliverables with minimal rework.
  • Support documentation governance, periodic reviews, audit readiness, and content-lifecycle management.

Required Qualifications

  • Five or more years of relevant experience in business-process management, process design, process documentation, technical writing, process improvement, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining standard operating procedures.
  • Experience gathering process information from subject-matter experts and translating it into clear documentation.
  • Experience creating end-to-end process maps, workflows, and cross-functional swimlane diagrams.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Visio or a comparable process-mapping tool.
  • Strong technical and business-writing skills.
  • Experience developing user guides, quick-reference guides, job aids, training materials, or similar enablement content.
  • Ability to simplify complex business, technical, and operational concepts for different audiences.
  • Experience facilitating discussions with cross-functional stakeholders to validate and align business processes.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, consistency, and document quality.
  • Ability to manage multiple documentation and process-development efforts simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently, organize ambiguous information, and drive deliverables through review and approval.
  • Experience working in a large, cross-functional enterprise environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated reliability and interest in supporting a long-term assignment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting engineering, procurement and construction, capital projects, construction, infrastructure, data centers, or other large-scale project-delivery environments.
  • Experience with global project controls or related disciplines such as cost management, cost control, estimating, planning and scheduling, risk management, change control, forecasting, or project reporting.
  • Familiarity with project-control processes and the interaction between engineering, procurement, construction, finance, and supply-chain functions.
  • Experience documenting processes for enterprise platforms such as ERP, project portfolio management, procurement, contract-management, integrated business planning, or project-information systems.
  • Experience with tools comparable to SAP project and portfolio management platforms, SAP enterprise systems, procurement platforms, contract-lifecycle management systems, or project-control applications.
  • Experience supporting organizational change management, business transformation, digitization, or system-implementation initiatives.
  • Experience developing process-governance frameworks, documentation standards, templates, or content-review procedures.
  • Knowledge of process-improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, SIPOC, BPMN, or value-stream mapping.
  • Experience defining and tracking process KPIs, OKRs, service-level measures, or adoption metrics.
