Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Oversight: Monitor and manage the end-to-end servicing lifecycle of mortgage products, ensuring quality controls are executed accurately and timely. Identify and address gaps in procedures to maintain compliance and service excellence.
- Risk and Compliance Collaboration: Partner closely with Risk, Bank QA, and external vendors to implement preventative risk measures. Proactively identify emerging risks and contribute to mitigation strategies that protect both clients and the organization.
- Process Optimization: Lead efforts to streamline workflows and eliminate inefficiencies using Lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies. Evaluate current processes and recommend enhancements that improve scalability and reduce manual effort.
- Cross-Functional Engagement: Serve as a liaison between operations, technology, product, and vendor teams to ensure alignment on goals, timelines, and execution. Facilitate clear communication and transparency across stakeholders.
- Strategic Analysis and Reporting: Analyze servicing data and performance metrics to identify trends, inform decision-making, and support regulatory reporting. Provide insights that drive operational strategy and product enhancements.
- This role demands a high level of autonomy, strategic thinking, and subject matter expertise to support the growing complexity of the Home Lending program. The Senior Business Analyst will be instrumental in shaping the future of mortgage operations and ensuring the program’s long-term success.
Required Qualifications
- 5-7 years' experience in mortgage lending or servicing, with a strong understanding of operational workflows, regulatory requirements, and vendor management
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with mortgage servicing platforms (e.g., MSP/Black Knight)
- Strong working knowledge of Excel, including advanced functions and data analysis tools
- Experience with reporting tools and data visualization platforms is a plus.
- Proven ability to analyze complex data sets, identify trends, and translate insights into actionable recommendations
- Demonstrated experience applying Lean principles or other continuous improvement methodologies to optimize operational processes
- Risk & Compliance Awareness: Experience collaborating with Risk, QA, and Compliance teams to identify and mitigate operational risks
- Communication & Collaboration:
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to effectively engage with cross-functional teams, vendors, and leadership
- Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building capabilities
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to think critically and strategically to support business goals and drive innovation
- Advanced Education or Certifications: Master’s degree or professional certifications such as Six Sigma, Lean, PMP, or Certified Mortgage Banker (CMB)
- Project Management Experience: Experience leading cross-functional initiatives or product rollouts within mortgage operations
- Automation & Technology Integration: Familiarity with automation tools and experience identifying opportunities to streamline manual processes
- Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth understanding of mortgage regulatory requirements and servicing standards
- Change Management: Experience supporting or leading change initiatives in a dynamic operational environment
