We are looking for a Senior Azure Engineer to lead the design, implementation, and operations of secure, scalable cloud solutions on Microsoft Azure. In this role, you will architect and build cloud infrastructure and platform services, modernize legacy workloads, and drive best practices for security, reliability, cost optimization, and automated delivery. You’ll work closely with product, security, enterprise architecture, and development teams to enable high-quality cloud services across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and delivery of Azure-based solutions across infrastructure, networking, security, and platform services.
- Architect and implement cloud environments using best practices for identity, networking, governance, and resilience.
- Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Bicep, Terraform, or ARM.
- Implement and optimize CI/CD pipelines for cloud and application deployments using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
- Design and manage Azure networking including VNets, subnets, NSGs, UDRs, Private Endpoints/Private Link, VPN/ExpressRoute, load balancers, Application Gateway, and WAF.
- Lead security-first implementations including Entra ID/Azure AD, RBAC, PIM, Key Vault, managed identities, Defender for Cloud, Sentinel (where applicable), and Policy-first governance.
- Support cloud migration and modernization efforts, including rehost/refactor/re-architect strategies, landing zones, and subscription design.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve production environments for performance, availability, and cost.
- Establish standards, reference architectures, and reusable modules to accelerate delivery.
- Mentor engineers and provide technical guidance and peer reviews.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and architecture diagrams.
Qualifications
- 6+ years of experience in cloud/infrastructure/platform engineering.
- 4+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure in a production environment.
- Deep knowledge of Azure compute (VMs, VMSS, App Service, AKS preferred).
- Strong understanding of Azure storage (Blob, Files, Disk, lifecycle policies).
- Advanced knowledge of Azure networking.
- Strong identity and access experience with Entra ID/Azure AD, RBAC, and PIM.
- Strong experience with IaC (Bicep or Terraform strongly preferred).
- Experience implementing CI/CD and automated release patterns.
- Solid understanding of observability tools such as Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights.
- Familiarity with high availability and disaster recovery design.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with experience leading incident resolution and root-cause analysis.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to translate technical concepts to stakeholders.
