Role Summary

Temporal is shaping the future of application development by enabling organizations to build, scale, and run resilient applications. We are seeking a technically curious Sr. Account Executive with a growth mindset to join our GTM organization and accelerate expansion within a portfolio of high-potential customers.

This role sits on our Sales Growth Scale team located on the East coast, focused on deepening and expanding existing customer relationships as they scale their use of Temporal across teams, use cases, and business units. You will work with technically sophisticated organizations that are already seeing value from Temporal and help guide them from early adoption to broader, long-term commitments.

As a Growth AE, you will navigate increasingly complex account structures, partner closely with Solutions Architects and Customer Success, and engage a range of personas from software engineers to engineering leadership and business decision-makers. This role is ideal for sellers who thrive in land-and-expand motions, enjoy technical problem-solving, and want to grow their skills operating in larger, more complex environments.

You’ll play a critical role in driving durable revenue growth while helping customers build resilient systems with Temporal. We value diverse perspectives and believe great sellers are built through curiosity, collaboration, and continuous learning.

What You'll Do
  • Own and manage expansion opportunities within a defined book of business, driving increased adoption and revenue growth.

  • Develop and execute thoughtful account plans to expand Temporal’s footprint across teams, workflows, and business units.

  • Engage deeply with technical stakeholders including software engineers, architects, and engineering leaders to understand evolving use cases and challenges.

  • Translate technical value into business impact, aligning Temporal’s capabilities to customer priorities and outcomes.

  • Navigate increasingly complex sales cycles, including multi-threading across technical, economic, and executive stakeholders.

  • Build trusted, long-term customer relationships and act as a strategic partner throughout the customer lifecycle.

  • Partner closely with Solutions Architecture, Customer Success, Product, and Marketing to deliver a cohesive customer experience.

  • Identify growth signals through usage, adoption, and organizational change, and act thoughtfully and decisively.

  • Continuously refine sales strategies and execution in a fast-moving, high-growth environment.

What You'll Bring
  • Demonstrated success in software sales, typically gained through 7+ years of experience in quota-carrying roles focused on customer growth and expansion (years of experience can be flexible based on impact and performance).

  • Experience in B2B software sales, with exposure to commercial, mid-market, or growth-focused roles.

  • Demonstrated ability to sell to technical audiences and learn complex products quickly.

  • Experience managing and expanding existing customer accounts through value-based selling.

  • Strong discovery skills and comfort navigating both technical and business conversations.

  • Ability to prioritize effectively across a portfolio of accounts with varying levels of opportunity and complexity.

  • Solid track record of meeting or exceeding revenue goals.

  • Collaborative mindset and experience working cross-functionally with technical and customer-facing teams.

  • Comfort operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment with a high degree of ownership.

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to adapt to different personas.

  • Curiosity, coachability, and a genuine interest in growing into more complex sales environments.

Nice to Have
  • Experience selling developer tools, infrastructure, or platform technologies

  • Exposure to consumption-based or usage-driven sales models

  • Experience supporting expansion motions in SaaS or technical products

  • Interest in progressing toward enterprise-level selling over time
