Job Description

This position will focus on the “Money In” portion of the 401(k) process. The incumbent’s primary role will be to process, reconcile, and trade all payroll files received. This includes reviewing related suspense accounts and reporting on outstanding participant account balances regularly. Additionally, the incumbent’s duties will involve complex and extensive troubleshooting of payroll related issues, initiating funding for payroll files and addressing the integrity of participant data. The incumbent will also have regular communication with internal Account Managers/Client Service Consultants as well as occasional client communication.

  • This position is remote (within the U.S.A.) and does not require regular in-office presence.

What you do:

  • As a subject matter expert (SME), provide knowledge and guidance related to all payroll processing matters
  • Independently take on tasks and responsibilities where help is need on the team
  • Develop new technical skills and expand knowledge of our systems and recordkeeping software to find better ways to service our clients and adapt to system changes and upgrades
  • Download, reconcile, and track receipt of deposits for payroll files transmitted by plans sponsors and vendors via the web
  • Process payrolls and execute trades via Relius recordkeeping system
  • Resolve issues related to payroll processing, including under or over funding, eligibility, statutory limits, employer contributions, and loan payments
  • Complete all year-end processing requirements to complete plan year including final reports, transactions, and census updates
  • Maintain and cultivate strong relationships with plan sponsors as well as client services by staying vigilant in communicating and following up on any outstanding payroll items

What you bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
  • 1-3 years 401k Retirement Experience required
  • 3-5 years 401k Retirement Experience preferred
  • Relius proficiency preferred
  • Intermediate Excel skills required
