Job Description:

This person will have overall responsibility for engaging the team in the implementation of the Agile Scrum process. Their role is as facilitator, instigator, and shepherd of the Agile Scrum Process. They will facilitate team discussions to discern where each unique team is on their Agile Journey and note areas of risk or resistance and develop actions to coach the team through these hurdles. This role will be supporting the Product Owner with project/release status, documenting velocity, capacity, individual sprint burndowns, overall project Burndown, facilitating discussions for Sprint Planning and Retrospectives. It is critical that this individual keeps encouraging the team to express themselves openly and respectfully and develop accountability to each other and commitment to the project

Qualifications

Responsibilities:

• Facilitate team training and notate team’s maturity in the Agile Scrum process

• Coach the Product Owner and team through creating and estimating the Product Backlog

• Review and update the daily Sprint and Release burndowns to measure velocity and predict release completion

• Facilitate negotiations between the Product Owner team and development team on priorities and dependencies

• Continue to update and analyze capacity, velocity, and scope and maintain a Project Burndown

• Facilitate Daily Scrums, Sprint Planning sessions and Retrospectives to keep the team focused and on track with the objective and make the meetings efficient.

• Skillfully facilitate discussions and know when to allow a deeper discussion to continue, when to cut the discussion off, or redirect the discussion to a parking lot for discussion with a smaller group.

• Provide data such as the release burndown to the Product Owner and relevant levels of management to help them engage in data-driven decision making

• Present to multiple levels of management and articulate the status of the project

• Coach the team through adoption of the Agile Scrum process with positive and negative feedback

• Engage with management as appropriate to assist in removing organizational and systemic impediments

• Accountability to team for documenting progress and publishing the results with transparency in printed (Information Radiators in the team room) and electronic formats such as maintaining a team website

• Determining communication plans and methods

• Facilitate in the key Scrum ceremonies (Daily Scrum, Sprint Planning, Retrospective, and Developer Demonstration).

Experience:

• 3-5 years as project leader or Scrum Master

• Outstanding organizational, communication, interpersonal, relationship building skills conducive to team development.

• High energy and passion for the job

• Ability to adapt, to be flexible, and to learn quickly in a dynamic environment.
