How you’ll contribute  

Scheduler who excels in this role: 

  • Schedule patients for rehabilitation services, procedures, and diagnostic testing while ensuring appropriate staffing, resources, and appointment availability.
  • Coordinate appointment changes, cancellations, and rescheduling to support efficient patient flow and a positive patient experience.
  • Verify physician orders and obtain required insurance authorizations or pre-certifications prior to scheduled services.
  • Enter and manage outpatient orders and procedures accurately within the scheduling and order entry systems.
  • Communicate insurance coverage details, out-of-network status, and potential benefit impacts to patients and physician offices.
  • Provide clear pre-appointment instructions, testing requirements, and supporting documentation to patients and referring offices.
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date scheduling information while ensuring confidentiality and compliance with healthcare privacy standards.

Schedule:  PRN, this position will work in the Outpatient Clinic as well as the Haywood Health & Fitness Center as needed.

What we’re looking for  
 

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Prior scheduling experience in a healthcare or clinical setting strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance, billing, or collections preferred.
  • Proficiency with computers and ability to quickly learn scheduling and electronic systems.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients and physician offices.
  • Excellent attention to detail with a focus on accuracy in scheduling, insurance verification, and patient information.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities and maintaining patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA standards.
