Job DescriptionSummary
The Sales Support Manager leads and manages the Inside Sales and Sales Support functions within MCG’s Sales Organization. This role is responsible for the performance, development, strategic direction, and quota attainment of the Inside Sales and Sales Support teams, including Inside Sales Representatives, Sales Support Specialists, and Senior Sales Support Specialists.
The Sales Support Manager ensures that customer proposals are professionally structured, technically coherent, commercially sound, compliant with MCG standards, and delivered on schedule. This role balances process discipline, customer responsiveness, cross-functional coordination, quality control, and sales execution while supporting both standard equipment opportunities and complex, facility-level electrical distribution solutions.
This position serves as a critical operational bridge between Account Executives, Estimating, Engineering, Operations, Legal, and external OEM partners, ensuring that proposals reflect accurate scope, clear documentation, aligned execution strategy, and appropriate commercial risk management. The role is also accountable for driving Inside Sales performance against assigned revenue, booking, and opportunity management objectives.
The role supports continuous improvement in proposal processes, sales tools, customer responsiveness, and collaboration across the sales ecosystem.

The following responsibilities are not all-inclusive. Additional projects or tasks may be assigned to meet operational needs. MCG reserves the right to modify or assign other duties as business needs evolve.

• Identify skill gaps, implement development plans, and ensure team members have the tools and training necessary to perform effectively.
• Manage team performance through goal setting, regular feedback, performance reviews, and accountability measures.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, responsiveness, continuous improvement, and customer focus across both Sales Support and Inside Sales functions.
Proposal Process Leadership & Quality Assurance
• Lead and oversee the proposal development process, ensuring proposals are accurate, professional, commercially sound, and aligned with MCG standards.
• Establish and maintain standards for proposal quality, documentation, workflow management, revision control, and approval processes.
• Ensure all customer-facing proposals comply with MCG technical, commercial, and formatting requirements.
• Review customer terms and conditions, compare them against MCG standard terms and conditions, and identify material deviations, risks, exceptions, and contractual concerns for appropriate review and resolution.
• Provide oversight and support for high-value, strategic, or complex opportunities, ensuring alignment between Sales, Sales Support, Inside Sales, Estimating, Engineering, Operations, and Legal as required.
• Drive consistency, process discipline, and continuous improvement across proposal development and customer quotation activities.

• Support resolution of scope gaps, technical risks, and commercial ambiguities in proposals.
• Promote clear roles, responsibilities, and handoffs between Sales, Sales Support, and Estimating.
Support for Complex, Facility-Level Proposals
• Guide the team in supporting complex, multi-vendor, facility-level electrical distribution proposals.
• Ensure effective coordination with third-party OEMs when external equipment is integrated with MCG offerings.
• Support Senior Sales Support Specialists in translating technical inputs, bills of material, and OEM data into cohesive, customer-ready proposals.

• Ensure Sales Support provides consistent, accurate margin calculations and pricing alignment to Account Executives.
• Support structured pricing reviews and scenario analysis when needed.
• Reinforce compliance with MCG commercial guidelines, assumptions, and exclusions in proposals.
• Work with Sales leadership to improve clarity and consistency in how pricing and terms are presented to customers.

• Promote repeatable processes for working with external suppliers to reduce cycle time and errors.
Process, Tools & Continuous Improvement
• Drive consistency in proposal templates, documentation practices, and workflow tools.
• Standardize how assumptions, exclusions, and clarifications are presented in proposals.
• Capture lessons learned from successful and unsuccessful pursuits to refine processes.
