The Software Support Engineer will assist in deploying and maintaining Teleo's autonomous heavy machinery, ensuring system uptime and reliability. Responsibilities include supporting deployments, debugging issues, and collaborating with engineering teams.
Job Summary
As a Software Support Engineer at Teleo, you will be responsible for supporting the global expansion and maintenance of Teleo’s autonomous heavy machinery fleet. Your role will involve supporting both internal and external teams in deploying Teleo’s technology across a growing range of heavy machinery. You will work closely with various engineering teams to ensure the successful bringup and operation of autonomous heavy machinery. The ideal candidate will have proven experience and a clear passion for customer success, along with a strong focus on ensuring system uptime. You should have a mindset geared towards developing scalable solutions and processes. This role requires the ability to travel a minimum of 10% to construction sites at customer locations.
Key Responsibilities
- Remotely support for the introduction of new vehicles to Teleo’s expanding autonomous heavy machinery fleet
- Work with teams both internal and external to Teleo to support customer deployments
- Report issues seen in the field to Teleo’s engineering teams, and maintain logs of commonly seen issues
- Collaborate with Engineering to address issues and continuously improve the overall stability/uptime of Teleo’s fleet
- Conduct testing and debugging to ensure reliability and performance of deployed SW solutions
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 2-3+ years of professional experience working with Linux-based operating systems (such as Ubuntu)
- Familiarity with command line tools for debugging (such as ping, top, etc)
- Experience with ROS
- Proficient in scripting languages, such as Python & Bash
- Experience with project management tools, such as JIRA
- Methodical documentation and report writing for both internal and external communication
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic robotics environment
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
Preferred Qualification/Bonus Points
- Professional experience in developing software in C++
- Experience working with cloud platforms, such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform or Microsoft Azure
- Experience with basic lab equipment, such as multimeters and oscilloscopes debugging electrical systems
