Job Responsibilities

  • Review, maintain and negotiate contract terms (internally and externally), including Master and Blanket Agreements, and contracts for complex projects

  • Coordinate between Sales, Project Management, Legal, Finance, and Operations

  • Advise stakeholders on contractual obligations and risks and develop mitigation action plans

  • Develop regular reports on contract status and maintain contracts database for business unit & management updates on ongoing contractual negotiations

  • Protect organizational value by maintaining contract confidentiality

  • Support marketing & sales as the primary customer interface and as contact point for appropriate customer contract terms flow down to supply chain for contractors and key suppliers / partners on medium, large and complex customer contracts

  • Provide contractual guidance within Marketing & Sales and PMO departments and other operations key points related to contractual risks and issues during project execution.  Considering risk, pricing, scope, and schedule impacts to protect Hitachi Energy

  • Lead execution of risk review, FRAME Agreement, & blanket waiver processes for assigned areas in accordance with group and BU Risk Reviews guidelines

  • Work between different business units and HUBs in alignment of contractual terms for both products, projects and services

  • Verifies that both parties to the contract have fulfilled their contractual obligations and there are no responsibilities outstanding.   Assesses success of the contract and determines if there are any lessons learned for future contracting.  Documents and communicates to all appropriate parties any deficiencies found as part of the closeout process.

  • Ensures contract insurance provisions are adhered to and coordinates with Insurance Risk Management regarding occurrences that may be covered by customer or Hitachi Energy provided insurance.

  • Work with Site and Project Controllers to ensure the accuracy and completeness of Financial Full Costs Models prior to Risk Reviews and make sure financial risks are highlighted and mitigated in the tendering stage.

Requirements & Experience

  • Bachelor’s, associate’s degree or certificate in Business Administration, Law or related discipline.

  • 5 to 10 years of relevant experience

  • Experience managing a portfolio of contracts within the technology & construction industry

  • Strong organizational, communication and negotiation skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Productivity tools (Office 365, SharePoint, Teams)

  • Experience with digital document approval platforms like DocuSign and Adobe Sign

  • Demonstrated customer focus and ability to build effective working relationships
