Job Description SummaryIn Advanced Mechanical Design, we create and test innovative solutions for the future of our business. In this role, you will contribute to advancements in aircraft component design, focusing on the Low-Pressure Turbine (LPT) rotor disk and/ or Flowpath/airfoils for the RISE Open Fan technology demonstrator engine program. This hardware design role is crucial to developing our next generation of aircraft. The position offers the flexibility of a fully remote setup or an optional hybrid schedule (office and home).

Essential Responsibilities:
- As part of GE Aerospace's RISE program, develop mechanical designs for assigned hardware that satisfy program and internal design requirements, specifically in the context of the Open Fan low-pressure turbine technology maturation and engine demonstration efforts (ground and flight test).
- Collaborate with global and diverse teams from multiple disciplines, including thermal design, aero design, and systems design.
- Communicate design risks to stakeholders to facilitate collective decision-making.
- Create innovative solutions to meet broad design objectives for assigned hardware and overall module.
- Lead and complete design reviews, drawing releases, quality requirements, and assembly analyses.
- Suggest areas for technology advancements and recommend approaches or programs to achieve them.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Engineering degree with industrial experience in mechanical design.
- Proven track record in delivering complex programs and ability to work in cross-functional global teams in multicultural environments.
- Demonstrated ability to advance technology and generate innovative solutions.
- Fluency in English.
Desired Characteristics:
- Substantial experience in the gas turbine or aviation industry, specifically in mechanical design for components such as rotors, airfoils, and structures.
- Experience in bolted joint analysis and disk design or flowpath/airfoils design.
- Proficiency in Finite Element Analysis, preferably using Ansys.
- Skills in 2D/3D modeling of mechanical components, preferably using NX/Teamcenter.
- Experience in life assessments (LCF, HCF, crack propagation, creep).
- Knowledge of manufacturing and assembly processes and tools.
- Experience in tolerance stack-ups, releasing drawings, and creating Bills of Material (BoMs).
