Research and Development Technician

Job Description
The Research and Development Team is looking to add a highly skilled Technician to assist the group in daily activities ranging from sample management, testing, production of materials and packout. Experience with manufacturing solvent and solventless propellants desired as well as a background in machining and/or tooling. The candidate will be highly motivated, organized and methodical in thinking and actions.
The successful candidate will under his/her own initiative assist in the design of safe, effective, and efficient methods of manufacturing energetic formulations; undertake experiments using corrosive, explosive, and toxic materials in a safe manner; operate lab and pilot equipment in support of development experiments and lab, pilot, and full scale process development; and maintain adequate records of work and present in a form suitable for management and legal reporting.
This is primarily a day shift position working a 9/80 schedule with every other Friday off. Occasional evenings / weekends / off-shift support is required.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills

• Required education: High School/GED.
• Experience working on machinery including a lathe OR experience handling, transporting and manufacturing propellants and explosives.
• Organized, motivated and self-sufficient.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

• Associates' or Bachelor's Degree in Science Field.
• Experience with DOT and DOD shipping regulations.
• Experience with writing and executing work instructions and test plans.
• Experience with packaging and shipping hazardous materials.
• Statistical data analysis and statistical process control experience.
• Previous experience supporting small scale production or Research and Development activities.
• Facilities monitoring and upkeep.

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $58839 - $94143

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
