Summary

The New Process Introduction Engineer is a motivated and energetic contributor responsible for the technology transfer and industrialization of new processes into manufacturing. This role focuses on transferring processes from a sister facility in France, ensuring smooth implementation while optimizing performance, yield, and efficiency. The engineer will lead process optimization efforts, working cross‑functionally to stabilize and improve new technologies as they are introduced into production. Experience with chemical deposition processes is highly desired, enabling effective troubleshooting and continuous improvement in advanced manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Understand and Deploy processes into production that have been developed in an R&D setting.  The process may or may not be fully industrialized upon transfer and the team will be responsible to industrialize at an efficient pace

  • Develop/Translate process documentation relating to the new or modified processes

  • Industrialize processes to the point that they are meeting defined productivity and process yield targets before transferring to plant production

  • Organize and manage new process rollout on a machine by machine basis coordinating modifications to equipment/software/recipes etc…

  • Travel to other manufacturing sites several times per year (Travel typically less than 10%)

  • Provide guidance or suggestions to other departments (operations, maintenance) as it relates to the process area

  • Define and implement improvement projects that reduce cost and or improve product quality

  • Collaborate with engineers at other international Prysmian plants to resolve complex process problems

  • Become a lead contributor of the global process control team with a desire to generate change

  • Comply with all applicable safety procedures and ISO14001 EMS guidelines

  • Demonstrate the ability to work in high pressure situations with tight timelines

  • Excellent communication & presentation skills

  • Querying and analyzing large sets of data to make data driven decisions

  • Develop and lead the plant’s culture of continuous process improvement

  • Report directly to R&D Leadership team in Douvrin, France

Requirements:

  • 2 years minimum of experience

  • B.S. in Engineering

  • Capability to travel to other factories in Europe to understand and master new processes

  • Demonstrated ability to understand complex process flow and machines

  • Become the subject matter expert in the assigned process area

  • Demonstrate capability to independently prioritize tasks to make progress on short term and long-term initiatives

  • Ability to work with global teams whose native language is not always English

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal oversight

Preferred:

  • 5 years of experience in a process and/or development engineering role

  • Demonstrated capability to introduce and/or industrialize a new processes

  • Experience in the optical fiber manufacturing industry (Deposition/Overclad/Fiber Draw processes)

  • Ability and desire to provide leadership for process technicians

  • Fluent in French

  • Experience with statistical analysis tools such as Minitab

  • Uses DMAIC/CI tools to structure and execute projects
