Job Description

Summary

The Fee-for-Service Quality Assurance Solution Engineer II role is primarily focused on ensuring internal and external customer requirements are met by validating product and solution functionality, performance, and quality against defined business requirements, technical specifications, and established standards. Under general supervision, supports moderate to high-complexity initiatives, exercising considerable independence, analytical thinking, creativity, and sound judgment to identify issues, recommend improvements, and contribute to successful project outcomes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Assists in the execution and tracking of testing performed on assigned products, including new products and modifications to existing systems.
  • Assists in the development and verification of associated testing documentation including test scripts, test results, and hardware/software installation and set-up instructions.
  • Assists in performing evaluations and audits of software documentation and software processes associated with products under test.
  • Assists in the establishment and maintenance of structured testing methodology and environments.
  • Responds to inquiries from users and technical support regarding functions and operations of software programs.
  • Coordinates test updates from other product or solution teams
  • Assembles test packets that show evidence of products or solutioning meeting defined requirements
  • May conduct analysis to help troubleshoot scenarios in which results do not match expectations
  • Authors or contributes to Quality Assurance and Testing Plan Artifacts
  • Participates in the design, development, execution, and continuous improvement of test automation frameworks and automated regression suites to improve testing efficiency, coverage, and repeatability.

Education and/or Experience –

BS/BA and 4+ years’ experience or equivalent combination of education and experience

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic competencies and knowledge of:

  • Experienced with Microsoft Office Professional and NT PC environment. 
  • Quality Assurance Testing Knowledge: Techniques used to test software applications, including test suites and scripts, anomaly reporting, software analysis, and automated software test packages; “black box” and “white box” testing techniques; and software development processes.
  • Database Knowledge: Database structures and sequel query language, including data table information and report analysis.
  • Internet Browser Knowledge: including URLs cached files, downloading programs, and setting browser options.
  • Software Development Knowledge: including structured programming language (Visual Basic, C++, Java, etc.), distributed architectures, and object-oriented programming concepts.
  • Experience with automated testing tools and methodologies, including the creation, execution, and maintenance of automated test cases. Tools may include Selenium, or similar.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Preferred but not required: ISTQB Certification

  • Medicaid Terminology: Pharmacy Benefit information reported through product applications.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to develop solid work relationships with peers, management and internal customers.
  • Ability to work in a deadline driven environment with the flexibility to juggle multiple tasks.

Work Location

This position works on-site at the San Diego Headquarters or other company location (or from a remote location with management approval based on business requirements). Must provide adequate support to internal clients; be available for regular interactions and coordination of work with other employees, colleagues, clients, or vendors; as well as be available to facilitate effective decisions through collaboration with stakeholders.

Working Hours

This is a full-time non-exempt position requiring one to be able to work overtime from time to time to get the job done. Therefore, one must have the ability to work nights, weekends or on holidays as required. This may be changed at any time to meet the needs of the business. The typical working hours for this position are Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm.

Travel

This position requires no travel; however, attendance may be required at various local conferences and meetings.
