The Quality Assurance Engineer delivers quality assurance for assigned product areas and is responsible for owning quality outcomes from test planning through release validation. The position balances test design and execution, mentoring of junior team members, and collaboration with development and product teams within
a defined technical scope.
Responsibilities:
- Own quality for assigned features, components, or modules - from test planning through release validation.
- Design comprehensive test strategies covering functional, integration, regression, and edge case scenarios.
- Write and maintain automated tests within the team's testing frameworks.
- Identify quality risks early in the development process and propose mitigation approaches.
- Collaborate with developers on testability, defect resolution, and integration validation.
- Conduct exploratory testing to find issues beyond planned test cases.
- Mentor associate-level QA team members on testing techniques and tools.
- Contribute to test infrastructure improvements and process refinements.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the team leader or manager within the scope of the role.
Competencies & Skills :
- Strong knowledge of test methodologies, test design techniques, and the defect lifecycle.
- Proficiency in test automation and the team's testing frameworks.
- Ability to translate ambiguous requirements into comprehensive test strategies.
- Analytical thinking and attention to detail.
- Effective communication with developers, product team, and other stakeholders.
- Mentoring instinct for less experienced QA team members.
The compensation for this position is $85k to $100k annually. Base pay will vary depending on factors, including but not limited to, a candidate’s location, job-related knowledge, skills and work experience. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus. Qualifications Education Required Bachelors or better. Experience Required Experience in software quality assurance. Strong proficiency in SQL (complex joins, stored procedures, data validation queries) Experience with API testing (REST/SOAP) using tools like Postman Strong working knowledge of automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and QA tooling. Demonstrated ability to own quality for features or components independently.
