Design and execute functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end tests for high-throughput, low-latency backend trading systems. Validate real-time data flows, messaging, caching, and data integrity (WebSocket, Kafka, Redis, databases). Collaborate with product and engineering, document defects, and improve testing processes, tooling, and automation.
Binance is a leading global blockchain ecosystem behind the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange by trading volume and registered users. We are trusted by 300+ million people in 100+ countries for our industry-leading security, user fund transparency, trading engine speed, deep liquidity, and an unmatched portfolio of digital-asset products. Binance offerings range from trading and finance to education, research, payments, institutional services, Web3 features, and more. We leverage the power of digital assets and blockchain to build an inclusive financial ecosystem to advance the freedom of money and improve financial access for people around the world.
We are looking for an experienced Backend QA Engineer to join our engineering team and help ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of our trading and financial systems. You will work closely with developers, product managers, and other QA engineers to design and execute comprehensive test strategies for high-throughput, low-latency backend services in the Traditional Finance (TradFi) domain.
If you are passionate about quality, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and have a strong grasp of modern backend technologies, we'd love to hear from you.
Responsibilities
- Own product quality end-to-end — go beyond backend correctness to ensure the overall product experience is smooth, reliable, and meets user expectations.
- Design and execute test plans covering functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end scenarios across distributed backend services.
- Validate real-time data flows, messaging, caching, and data integrity across the system (WebSocket, Kafka, Redis, databases).
- Think from the user's perspective — identify usability gaps, edge cases, and experience issues that impact real users, not just technical defects.
- Collaborate closely with product, development, and design teams to clarify requirements, refine acceptance criteria, and advocate for quality throughout the development lifecycle.
- Identify, document, and track defects to resolution, partnering with developers to reproduce and diagnose issues.
- Continuously improve testing processes, tooling, and best practices.
Requirements:
- 2+ years of software testing experience in the Traditional Finance (TradFi) industry, or testing financial/trading-related systems.
- Solid experience in backend testing, with hands-on familiarity across Spring Boot, WebSocket, Redis, Kafka, and databases (including writing SQL to verify data integrity).
- Proficiency with API and network testing tools such as Postman, Charles Proxy, or equivalent.
- Strong communication skills — able to clearly articulate issues and collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
Preferred Requirements:
- Java development background — ability to read code, contribute to automation frameworks, or build test tooling.
- Fluency in English — comfortable working in an international, English-speaking environment.
- Proficiency in leveraging AI tools (e.g., AI coding assistants, LLM-based testing aids) to boost productivity and testing efficiency.
- Experience with test automation frameworks and CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with performance and load testing.
