Job Description:
Role Summary
The Proposal Writer owns the story we tell in RFPs, RFIs, and proactive proposals. You will translate complex services into clear benefits, build persuasive win themes, keep every submission compliant and on time, and collaborate with sales, solution leaders, and delivery to produce proposals that are easy to read and hard to ignore.
What you will do
• Lead end to end proposal development for RFPs, RFIs, and statements of work, including kickoff, schedule, compliance matrix, draft reviews, and final submission
• Craft compelling executive summaries, win themes, case studies, resumes, and solution narratives tailored to client priorities in HCM, Financials, and related Workday services
• Interview subject matter experts and convert technical input into concise client value statements with a consistent voice
• Maintain and evolve a content library that includes boilerplate, past performance, security and compliance narratives, and corporate information
• Edit and proofread for clarity, accuracy, tone, and compliance, and ensure brand standards across documents and presentations
• Coordinate pricing inputs, assumptions, and risk notes with sales and delivery, and package final submissions in portals or via email according to instructions
• Prepare and polish orals materials, speaker notes, and team bios, and support dry runs
• Track outcomes, analyze win and loss insights, and recommend improvements to increase hit rate over time
What you will bring
• Three or more years in proposal writing or proposal management in consulting, technology, or enterprise software
• Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills with a portfolio or samples that show structure, clarity, and persuasion
• Strong project management skills with the ability to drive schedules, manage inputs, and meet tight deadlines
• Comfort working with leaders and subject matter experts, asking good questions, and shaping content from interviews and notes
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint, solid Excel, and proficiency with SharePoint or similar collaboration tools
• Experience with proposal platforms such as Loopio, RFPIO, or Qvidian is helpful
• Familiarity with Workday, ERP, HR, Finance, or SaaS services is a plus
