Position Summary
Defense Holdings, Inc. (DHi) is seeking a highly skilled Proposal / Grant Writer to support business development and growth initiatives through the preparation of compelling proposals, grant submissions, and government solicitation responses.
The successful candidate will collaborate with internal stakeholders including engineering, program management, and leadership teams to produce high-quality submissions that align with federal solicitation requirements. This role requires strong research, writing, and project coordination skills to ensure proposals are accurate, compliant, and submitted within established deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
Proposal Development
Prepare technical and business proposals in response to government RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs.
Develop proposal narratives, executive summaries, and supporting documentation.
Coordinate with subject matter experts to gather technical content.
Grant Writing
Research federal grant opportunities and funding programs.
Prepare grant submissions and supporting documentation.
Ensure submissions align with agency guidelines and program objectives.
Compliance & Quality Assurance
Ensure all proposals meet solicitation requirements and formatting guidelines.
Maintain compliance with submission standards and documentation requirements.
Review and edit proposal content for clarity, accuracy, and consistency.
Proposal Coordination
Manage proposal schedules, deadlines, and review cycles.
Coordinate internal proposal meetings and review sessions.
Maintain proposal templates and content libraries.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Business, Public Administration, or related field.
3–5 years of experience in proposal writing, grant writing, or government contracting support.
Strong research, writing, and editing skills.
Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear written content.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and document management systems.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with federal government proposals and contracting processes.
Knowledge of SBIR/STTR programs or similar federal grant initiatives.
Experience supporting defense or federal agencies.
